You really think they would put “We’re committed to releasing in the year 2009” on the new main page if they didn’t think they were going to make it?

Also, I don’t see any reason as to why they might not delay the game a week or so just for the sake of releasing it on Half-Life’s anniversary. It gives them a small grace period, and a chance to make sure there aren’t any serious last-minute bugs. I don’t think that’s a valid argument against a 19th release. Not that I really think it will actually come out then. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have no doubt of their commitment to their self imposed deadlines. Clearly I can see that these people are interested in putting out a quality product. If they say they will release by a date, I believe they will.

However, it would be ironic if they followed Valve’s model of deadlines.

as long as it’s not on/around christmas day. I’m sure most people would be too busy to play it upon release.

Just an FYI: Hubi the webdev did the main page update, without input from the dev team.

At this point I wouldn’t bet against a delay into next year.

Early 2010 I reckon. Imagine the amount of bawwwww that will ensue if the 2009 date isn’t met. I sure hope the forums are ready for an influx of whiny noobs if this happens.

Well if its not coming out in 2009, it would be cool to release some new media the next week. It would be nice to see something new on Thursday, just to celebrate Half Lifes birthday. And if they dont, its still cool, cause the mod is just worth wating for :slight_smile:

Also its funny to see everyone begin to lose hope at the last minute.
I realize everyone here has probably been waiting multiple years for this thing, but its coming out soon. Don’t worry about it.

I dont think losing hope is the issue, its the tention and excitement building up that gets on everyone since many believe on November 19th, would be the celebration of HL1 and the release date of the Mod.

The Trailer also said 2009 and its only 1 Month left
