Might be true, might not. I’d love to see a sequel myself.

I believe it. They should be so burned out of making BF games. They deserve a break and we deserve Mirror’s Edge 2.
I’m just hoping that they’ll remove the wall-run cross jump.
And maybe not gimp the story this time. As I understand it, they cut out a ton of voice-overs that were key to the story of the first game, and it showed. Virtually all of the plot just up and vanished after you find project Icarus.
I just want them to get rid of the shooting sections and improve and expand on everything else.
The shooting was clunky because they never let us aim with the sights. I did like the fact that I could slide with a gun equipped, though. But you’re right, ME was never about the shooting anyway.
They also need to make disarms a bit easier to do. The timing for disarms on a G36 are basically split seconds, and Reaction Time can actually make it harder to time it because of the control lag.
Personally, I think that they should expand on the melee combat and reduce the need to use guns. It should certainly be in for the people who want to shoot their opponents, but it shouldn’t be the focus.
Also, it would be nice if you had the option to not equip the gun after a disarm. It was pretty annoying having to drop them every time I disarmed someone if I didn’t want their weapon.
Yeah, I’d fix that with a two part system- one press of the disarm button knocks the gun away and does a fast animation, holding the button gets control of the weapon.
I hope to god that EA doesn’t fuck it up,cause the first one was truly something special,I sure can’t explain it why…was it the unique aesthetics, fantastic soundtrack done by Solar Fields or something else…but this game made me feel like no other when playing it.
Original linked article has been updated with the following tweet:
“It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE.”
Ben Cousins
That’s great news!
Yayy
But will it suck as hard as the first?
Bugger off, Mirror’s Edge was awesome.
this
My only complaint was its short length.
I wish they’d kept the cut Prison map. It would have added a bit of length on. Of course, if they couldn’t come up with good gameplay for it then it made sense to cut it.
My main problem with the first game is it was about running.
Yet they often forced you into combat with no option to run until you beat all of the dudes they threw at you.
If they added some (most likely more difficult than normal) parkour options to get away from these fights, I would definitely be willing to play a sequel.
isn’t this an oxymoron?
Well, a tweet by a single person does not constitute absolute proof, is what I was trying to say. I’ve never been very good at titling things.
I don’t remember any part that forced you to fight anyone. Most of the time you could run past them or away from them.
There was that one part on the ship where you had to fight a squad before climbing up some pipes or you were pretty much guaranteed to get gunned down, and I think also one or two parts where you had to slowly climb a pipe to get out of the fighting area, but by and large you could easily just bypass the actual fighting.
I seem to remember a bunch of situations where you had to fight off a ton of SWAT Officers or you were pretty much guaranteed to get mowed down while vaulting a fence or something like that.
