Microsoft Vista or Windows 7?

Ok, what I am asking is if anybody has Vista or Windows 7? and if you do, which one works better? Whatever one works better, where can I find a link to get a free copy and a broken activation so I don’t have to activate it.

Reason: I don’t want to purchase another copy of windows because I purchase mine fair and square and what did I get? Bullshit out of it. It said I had no activations left. So I broke my activation on my XP. I did the same thing with Vista, Purchase a copy of it and came up with the same problem. I am tired of Microsoft’s shit and I ain’t paying them any more.

If anyone has had this same problem, please explain

Mind you I always found Vista ok… especially after the service pack release… but yes 7!

I’d say go with 7. I will also urge you to purchase it as piracy is not an ideal we promote in this forum.

I went from xp to 7. Its all good. There are a couple things that are annoying but so far I have been able to tweak most of them. MOST of them.

Best thing to do is phone them… I’ve never had any problems with keys when I have re-built machines.

Students can buy Windows 7 for £30 in the UK - its not worth mucking about chasing your tail with moody knocked off copies for that much.

You can get a copy for free if you go get your self accepted into Michigan tech CS CpE CE or ChemE program. Login into your MSDN-AA account, and then drop our of school before the first 2 weeks and you get a full refund.

So you can get a bunch of free operating systems, and some developer suites all 100% legal for about $70-100 (The cost of the non refundable part of your application)

Just get 7. It’s not a problem if you’re a person that keeps an extra wad of cash around for fancy spendings like games and stuff.

When I bought my computer it came with 7 installed already. Buy a new computer if you have to.

Yeah, 7 is the only real step forward since XP. Vista was kinda nice, but was a bit of a whore when it came to system resources. 7 is real nice… Smoooooooooth. A classy courtesan.

When I had vista, it would like for example: I would play Fallout 3 and my guy’s legs were twitching in place. Real stupid but funny as hell. And my guy zoomed across the entire map in 3 secs. of lag. maybe about 30 pissed off enemys I agroed when passing by were chasing me

I’d buy Windows 7 if I where you! vista does not have as many problems as it use to, but it still isn’t as stable as Windows 7. I am also using Windows Vista as I type this.

I went from XP to 7 as well. I hated it at first, but have now come to really appreciate it. Only issue I’ve had is with Jed’s HLMV.
