Incredible stuff. Some true next-level shit right there.

Makes me want to get a PS4.

^
EDIT: I may have missed something, as I didn’t see the full E3 conference, but I kind of have to wonder how using the fulton to kidnap enemy combatants makes them instantly loyal to you.

makes me want to boot the ps4 operating system on my PC to play it on triple screen

Fuck you sersoft, the very moment I saw you had posted here I JUST KNEW it had to be some PC hack related bullshit.

Looks good (dynamics and movement !cardboard box upgrade!), hope both parts eventually make their way to PC (edit: with good ports).

Fox Engine is just incredible. And that ain’t even full power.

So what should we call it?

A day.

[COLOR=‘Black’]P.S. Akshuly, gameplay looks t3h fun (even though the ‘new’ detection system is some rehashed gay shit we saw in Hitman Absolution and no one gives a shit about people gettting airlifted over their heads. wow) and t3hgraphix roxx0r but everything else is just bound to suck.

Call what?

The AI seems to be lacking tho. Also the whole “red dead redemption mode” lowers the difficulty down to zero.

Was AI ever good in an MGS game?
It was all cool set pieces

The enemies have cool behaviors and search patterns but they’re usually not very bright on the spot.

Call me crazy, but I wish there were a full on action mode (yes, I know Metal Gear is Stealth series, but Rising says hello) in MGSV which would transform the gameplay into something similar to Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. That would be sweet.

Did you miss Metal Gears of War 4?

Yeah, like, in minute intervals, a massive four-engined turboprop freight plane collects a balloon over their heads and not a single fuck is being given.

I’m pretty sure Kojima & Co. had endless debates over that and reached the conclusion that they’re making it unnoticeable to enemies (most of the time?) for gameplay balance reasons, since stocking the mother base with all kinds of shit is an integral part of the gameplay and it would be incredibly frustrating to have all enemies left in the areas to notice pick-ups every single time.

Enemy peripheral vision seems a bit on the poor side.

Is the % indicator on the Fulton recovery prompt a success chance or something else?

A new Mercenaries game on this engine could be great (or even a remake of Playground of Destruction)

When he tried to fulton the POW inside the house, the percentage was 0%, so I guess it’s an indicator of how clear and open the area is for extraction.

Yeah, next-gen game with leftover gameplay mechanics from a fucking psp game.
And the fact that they added a whole bunch of details affecting fulton like weather etc.

Yeah. Seems legit.

All they needed to do was to make every Fulton balloon count.
If it would just make the troops call in for an interceptor or for general reinforcements to the area (not looking for Snake, just increase the density and overall alertness) - I would be happy. And once again, it doesn’t have to be overly punitive - if you do it smart (pick your spots, mess with the comms or recover just before exiting the mission), you would avoid all the trouble.

And leave him no more than three per deployment. All I saw the guy do is spam the fucking fulton in the fucking video

MGS2 and 3’s AI was pretty good I thought. In MGS2 they’d sweep the room you’re in so if you’re not clever you’ll get caught if they’re searching for you. They’ll make sure to run behind cover before calling for backup too. I think it was easier in 2 to make them (seem) smart because it was mostly enclosed rooms while in 3 you were outside most of the time.

I kinda liked how you were able to use your Fulton so long as you had the GMP to do it. Additionally, I thought that the new uses for the Fulton were awesome, considering the many creative ways it can be used.

I don’t think that Fultons should necessarily draw attention normally. If it were an added thing to a higher difficulty, that’d be great. Kinda like hardcore mode in FO:NV, it’d give players a bit more of a challenge than usual without ruining the game by forcing it on players who would otherwise not want such an element.

I like most of the new stuff for this game, I’m really looking forward to playing it.
The only thing that’s bugging me so far is I can’t figure out what the hell is on Snakes forehead. I’m assuming it’s related to the events of the previous little game they released, with what happened there and Snakes hospitalization, but what IS it exactly? Shrapnel? Some sort of prosthetic device?
