lol it is gonna be taken down after a year after they goad everyone into buying a shitton of DLC’s
Peace Walker’s online isn’t down yet, right?
But yeah, MGS4’s online was also filled with exploiters, IIRC.
You can still play both MGOs but you need an emulator/hacked console for MGO1 and a hacked console for MGO2. And neither of those were on PC. It should be infinitely easier to get the online back up if it’s taken down again because of this.
Also it was after longer than a year I’m pretty sure. But yeah, it was still pretty shitty. I still regret not going back and playing a bit before they shut it down.
No one gives a damn about piss walker. Not proper MGO.
Bring back MGO1 and we boogie.
P.S. I know about ‘save-mgo’
By MGO1 do you mean MGS3’s online? Just want to make sure since I always see MGS4’s referred to as MGO1.
Yeah, Subsistance’s MGO.
Looks cool. Will be picking up in a few hours. Doesn’t seem a 970 can do 4k at 60 fps but I should do fine at the next lowest resolution or th one below that.
Picked it up, I’ll have to livestream this shit.
PC version is great. I only played at 1920x1200 because any higher would cause framerate drops at the main menu when the camera moved around but the GPU usage was between 50% and 70% most of the time so I think I should have some headroom to up the resolution at least a bit. Glad it supports 16:10 correctly (at least as far as I can tell) too. KB+M controls work well as well and I like that you can turn off pretty much all hud elements. I don’t remember most of the hud options on the console versions but they might have been there.
Anyone know how to upload custom songs to use as helicopter songs? I see where you can assign a helicopter song but I don’t know how to upload a song from my computer.
Edit: Looks like custom music isn’t supported on PC. Though there are people saying it’s not in the PS4 version either (not sure about Xbone). I’m kind of confused.
Can someone confirm this? Steam says the DL for this game is only 3gb, which is awesome because I have crap internet. How is this possible?
It’s about the same size as it is on the PS4. The game does have Japanese dialogue as well but it’s a separate download and not included in the game by default like a lot of other games do that bloat the file sizes. The game also doesn’t use 4GB vram like a lot of other games do.
It’s just one small map, not a ton of assets, no video cutscenes, maybe some compression. Many modern games bloat their install space with tons of video and additional voice languages, when the game data itself is just about half of it.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain release date “should be” announced soon:
https://www.vg247.com/2015/01/22/metal-gear-solid-5-the-phantom-pain-pc-ps4-xbox-one/
The Release date for MGSV is just confirmed to be release on the 1st of September:
youtube.com/watch?v=p3tMAUM_S9w
I don’t see anything pointing to the PC version being delayed so I’m hopeful that it’ll come out at the same time.
Speaking about the PC version, it’s just been announced that is going to be released on the 15th of September according to this:
https://uk.games.konami-europe.com/posts/KONAMI-ANNOUNCES-RELEASE-DATE-INFORMATION-FOR-METAL-GEAR-SOLID-V-THE-PHANTOM-PAIN
That’s stupid that there’s a delay but 2 weeks isn’t enough for me to freak out about it. I’m sure I can avoid spoilers for 2 weeks. If it was delayed too much more I was going to rent the Xbone version but I don’t think I’ll bother doing that with such a short delay.
I wouldn’t think such a short delay would net much more console sales though so I wonder what the reason for it is. These delays make no sense to me.
Maybe extra time testing various hardware configurations to make sure it runs smoothly on a variety of computers? Every XBone is going to act like every other XBone, and every PS4 is going to act like every PS4, but there’s really no telling for sure if a PC with an AMD GPU and an Intel CPU is going to work the same way as one with an Nvidia GPU and AMD CPU. Apparently the missing faces on AC:Unity were only on specific cards.
