No more bullshit, MGS 5 has been officially announced by Hideo Kojima at GDC '13 and it’s all Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain have been building up to.

So here’s what I don’t understand: is Ground Zeroes literally the prologue of the game, or is it a separate game that is also a prologue? All this “both games are Metal Gear Solid 5” shit is confusing me in a way that only this series could.
Hideo Kojima is a big troll and announced two different “games” that are basically one game. Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are both Metal Gear Solid 5.
Also, Phantom Pain is MGS 5’s subtitle.
First half of the game is “ground zeros” then he goes into a coma and wakes up in “phantom pain” it’s more like 2 story arc in one game.
Game looks really cool and the engine seems pretty unique too.
No announcement for PC though. Run everything on the fucking PC and then don’t release the game for it.

I doubt this very much. It’s probably going to be more like previous Metal Gear games.
MGS2- Tanker Chapter, then Plant Chapter.
MGS3- The Virtuous Mission, then Operation Snake Eater.
MGS5- Ground Zeroes, then The Phantom Pain. (Obviously placeholder titles here.)
Each of these “first chapter” operations are a shorter sequence of events that set up the main plot, in addition to easing players into the game mechanics. Of course, in MGS2 the game mechanics tutorials are done again on purpose to further the point that you are playing the same bloody game and you are a bad person. (MGS4 isn’t listed because that game was done in five “Acts.”)
I’m pretty sure that they said at the conference that the escaping the hospital was the tutorial level, so I guess maybe it flashes back? I really don’t know but I remember them saying that.
