But still, Max Payne game is still called “BULLET TIME OR YOU DIE”
This looks to be legit… GTX690 gets about 120 fps on all high with post processing AA.
Cool. Cool, cool, cool. I wasn’t expecting my PC (9800 GT) to run it super well so I was already planning to play it at 720p.
From what I looked up, a 5870 is just a little below a 560 ti, so I can probably get 60 fps by dropping a couple settings from high. I’m wondering if there’s a “very high” option though, since most games usually have that.
Well like the review said, it leaves you somewhat vulnerable as you lay on the ground (unless you remain on the ground and continue to shoot from prone position), but it sounds like that reviewer found shootdodge ineffective because he sucked with it; he chose his moments poorly and used it when enemies were in cover, thus wasting his ammo and letting them shoot him while he was on the ground.
If that sounds poorly balanced to you, so be it.
nah I was just linking that because I heard the same thing in 2 different reviews but it looked very useful from watching gameplay videos of it
I personally found ShootDodge to be pretty tactical. Rather than sliding down a wall in a canned animation (a la MP1 or 2), Max should react to the environment, so I was always mindful of my surroundings before I dove anywhere.
The only issue I had was the “Last Man Standing” addition - on harder difficulties it was very, very easy to completely lose all of your painkillers.
Lose All Health -> Last Man Standing -> Success! -> Other Guy Shoots You As You Are Vulnerable -> Lose All Health -> Last Ma… ad nauseum.
Max is already reacting to environment in MP3 where he will adjust his body to protect his head from the wall.
Sweet. Looks like I can probably run it at about 45-60 fps on high with my GTX 560 if I turn FXAA off.
FXAA has little to no impact to performance.
30 FPS stable on a 9800 GT? Well shit.
Thank god it’s no GTA 4-esque port.
EDIT: ^ FXAA is ugly as shit though. [COLOR=‘Black’]At least it was in Amnesia. Can’t notice a difference when it’s enabled in BF3 and Skyrim.
Then again that chart does not say the rest of the specifications they used to make it.
This is the longest 2 weeks of my life.
Edit: Fuck, it’s delayed until June 1. It’s not that much of a delay but it still sucks .
Fuck, I bought it for PS3 because I thought my rig wouldn’t be able to run it on max settings. Looks like it would have, easily.
Oh well. The game is still fun on the console, and looks relatively good.
Well damn. Whenever I see AA I just turn it off in games. Turning it off will squeeze out a couple extra frames, I’m sure.

The game has been added to the Steam registry, whatever that is. Listed size is about 28GBs.
Yeah, like one or a half of one.
Yay! It’s nice to see that my exact graphics card is the high recommended specs . And all the graphics options sound really nice. Anyone know enough about DX11 to know whether or not MP3’s implementation is above normal for games these days?
Edit: Also there’s going to be a PC launch trailer. That’ll be the first PC footage we see right?
I was gonna say something about FOV options but then I realized that even on consoles the FOV looks to be pretty decent.
I really hope this level of PC support is also applied to GTA5.
