running in ME3 looks pretty ridiculous/hilarious
also, thought it was pretty funny that Anderson stayed to fight while Shepard went to go play politics/lobbyist
I have to say the cutscenes in the demo seemed a little different than that of typical Mass Effect. They played a lot faster, a lot more like an action movie than the previous installments. Hell, I may just be imagining things and nothing has really changed at all, but something seemed off about the cutscenes.
Overall I liked the demo. It was fun and the cutscene you get while leaving Earth was a slight tear jerker for me.
Can’t wait for the full product.
I’m avoiding the campaign until the game comes out.
I probably should have done the same. I’m yearning for more, like a black woman to welfare.
Legion? Really? He ranks just above Jack, and lameass DLC Zaeed and Kasumi for me.
There isn’t much to discover about him as an individual anyway. I suppose if your reasoning was your curious about the Geth as a whole I’d understand, but as a hivemind construct he doesn’t have much room for character in him.
Holstering is possible in non-combat areas according to that thread.
EDIT: Sorry used to facepiss having automerge
But you can’t do it whenever you want. If you’re in a noncombat part of the game your weapons will be holstered, if you’re in a combat part of the game you will have your weapon out. I frequently holstered my weapon after combat in ME2 just to walk around and explore and it’s going to be really annoying to me to have to walk around with my gun out all the time.
I’m playing ME3 for the story anyway. The gameplay feels odd to me compared to ME2.
Why is that ? Nothing really changed between those two besides the interface look.
Well it’s the same feeling I got from ME1 to ME2. Mostly, the running. In ME1 when they ran it looked like they were actually moving like real people. Then you get ME2, and it looks like their legs are only moving to make it LOOK like they’re running. Otherwise, they’re just sliding. And the fact they never holstered their gun when I did bugged the crap out of me, too. I’m just walking normally and there they are behind me, doing their slide walk with guns always pointed, talking normally, it was just wierd. Then you get ME3 and things just feel less smooth. I know it’s all to make the gameplay faster, but it’s like when Shepard pops out of cover he’s a friggin lightning bolt just going super fast. And of course, holding your gun out while talking bugs me except now you CAN’T holster it. And then the slidey walk. But I got used to it in ME2, in ME3 it just kinda feels like a half-finished ME2, gameplay-wise. Though the infinite sprint is nice.
ME3 feels more refined than ME2, to me, honestly.
I dunno, movement still feels rather clunky to me, especially when moving around in cover or trying to run in narrow areas. not to mention i cant count how many times I’ve glitched out of the map because of getting hung up on some edge and then pushed off the ground. i’m realllly hoping they will address some of those problems in either the final release or a soon after patch.
also, am i the only one who actually liked jack’s character?
Perhaps not too much, but the fact that the hivemind construct produces personality traits it can’t account for itself is pretty interesting. Plus he’s a robot, come on.
Yes, probably.
EDIT: gotdangit bioware
Jack was the only character that died on my campaign. She’s lame and I snaffed a bit when it happened.
But, holy shit, am I glad I’m getting the collector’s edition of ME3. what the hell is wrong with EA
Damn TotalBiscuit for being right again.
I’m already getting the Collectors Edition so the whole day1 DLC bit isnt that big of a deal to me. While i do think its dumb for them to charge for the DLC as oppose to what they did with ME2, i’m not really up in arms about “charging for part of the game that should be included to begin with” and here’s the thing, this happened with the first Borderlands DLC as well, the devs finish the game, send it off to go get printed and distributed. in the time between they work on more content. they finish said content before the game is technically released (even though the game has been finished being made) so, because they can just put the content on their website and have it downloaded they don’t have to worry about putting it on the disk, thus day one DLC.
note, i’m not supporting them for doing it, i still think its pretty bad practice. EA is without doubt trying to cash in as much as they can on this game, and its kinda sickening. When in ME2 they provided a bunch of free content to anyone who bought it new, and then now in ME3 they are charging, that sends off the vibe that they dont care about the customers, only their money. but this is EA so that doesnt come as any surprise, they kinda have a history of such.
Overall, i’m pretty sure i’m going to enjoy ME3, though i dont think it will live up to my expectations. just based off of how they’ve been showing things, ive been kinda disappointed. back when they showed off the first announcement trailer, my thoughts were “i really hope they dont take the “gotta save earth” rout” simply because one of the biggest themes throughout the series has been that humans are new to the rest of the galaxy, and they are just a small part of the whole. the whole idea of discovering all these new things finding out that there is so much more out there. and then they bring it back to save earth, take it back. i just feel that it could have been so much more with everything they put into the story. At the same time ive been pretty disappointing in bioware’s writing lately so ME3 will probably be the last game i buy from them (also that i’m not interested in any of the other projects they have going in development)
I liked all the characters to an extent, yeah some annoy me but, respectively, I enjoy their conversations and personalities and how they grow as characters.
As for the Prothean DLC, I really don’t mind paying for it. I just don’t like getting screwed out of other DLC. As long as it’s up for download later, I’m fine.
If they feel like it is important enough to warrent a story they should have it in the game. They said that they sent the game off to get printed and then started on it, but I feel like if they’re going to make it anyway and it doesn’t take much time they should have picked a different date to release the game and had it be in :hmph: .
Edit: People have been saying that no matter which edition you get the DLC character will be in the story, but if you get the DLC then he can actually join your team. That’s completely different from what it seemed to me, and I am okay if that’s the way they’re doing it.
