Mass Effect 3 & TES V

As you all probably know, Mass Effect 3 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim were announced yesterday at the VGA. this thread is for speculation on what these games may contain. Sorry if such a thread has already been made but i could not see one, possibly due to me being an ignorant garg.

If they make their releases, next year may be the greatest year in gaming history. Maybe BM will be released as well.

i am kinda worried about ME3, making saving earth from the reapers, seems kinda small minded when compared to the scope of the Mass Effect universe, and it seems way to cliche… bioware could do better. my hope is that earth is a starting point of a further reaper invasion that you have to fight off and then finish elsewhere or something that doesn’t accumulate to “massive army of machines capable of wiping out an entire galaxy take more than a week to destroy earth in which time Shepard comes in and kills them all” just doesn’t fit. I am excited to see what new places we get to explore.

As for Skyrim, i’m excited. loved morrowind, kinda meh about oblivion, i really hope they get better voice actors they have always been off in that department, and a less predicable plot cause eh… main story of oblivion was severely lacking and had no plot twists. but none the less i’m pumped, still put hundreds of hours of game play into TES games through mods which is the real glory of those games i think.

Took them 500 years to wipe out the Protheans… While I’d be worried if this was another company, Bioware have proven themselves masterful storytellers. They wouldn’t resort to ‘the ancient reaper-killing weapon we found down the back of the sofa’

It was almost too much to handle when I saw the Mass Effect 3 premier, but after seeing The Elder Scrolls V premier I think it’s safe to say that my head is now completely distributed throughout the room I am currently in.

Not that excited for either of them sadly, I enjoyed the first Mass Effect for what i played, never finished it though, didn’t hold me enough. As for Oblivion, played it but stopped pretty quick.

Might check it out though.

Considering that the Reapers chose the humans to be the ones that will “ascend,” I don’t think it would be too clichéd. After all, where are the majority of humans living? Earth. :stuck_out_tongue:

As long as it uses a different engine, then yes please.

Looking forward to both of these games. But even combined it cannot reach the excitement I have for Black Mesa.

Mass effect 3 has the icing on the cake by that small second tease of game music we already know.
