So true.

That’s not a metaphor :hmph: .
Mac: safety scissors
Windows Vista: rubber band
Windows 7: Big-Assed Bowie knife from Crocodile Dundee (THIS is a knife)
Linux: Swiss army knife
IMO:
Having a Mac is like having an Audi R8 without steering. It can be powerful, but you’re extremely limited. You do what you want, but the way they want you to do it. So basically you can either go forward or backward, which is perfectly fine if you’re scared of fucking everything up.
Having a PC with Windows is like driving Subaru. It’s less pretty than the Audi, but still looks good. You can pimp it with whatever you want and make it more powerful than the R8 for less but if you don’t know anything there’s big chances it won’t even start. Aslo if you don’t know how to properly use it you might crash it into a wall and screw everything up. It also gets rusty pretty fast, which means you have to take it to the garage or do a little of maintenance yourself pretty often.
Having a PC with Linux is like driving a Russian tank. Only pros can really use it to the max, and if you do it’s super-duper powerful. Of course if you don’t know anything to it you might manage to drive around a bit but you’ll get bored after a few miles.
And I never get tired of Imonfire’s metaphor.
Those Linux fan pictures are the best.
This thread is win.
also, see my profile picture.
I wouldn’t hate macs so much if it came on a disk, having to buy a new computer and having to pay ridiculous money to upgrade it is a huge step backwards.
“I’m a mac.”
“And I’m a PC”
“you have to buy a computer to use me”
“I come on a disc”
"I hate U PC.
It’s true though, and I don’t see a reason for that huge step back in the evolution line, other than trying to get more money. :hmph:
Macs suck at playing DirectX games and crash within 15 minutes to an hour.
Windows outperforms Mac and is very good for gaming.
Linux has all sorts of programming tools built-in.
TBQH, I’d prefer to have OSX over Ubuntu, but Ubuntu is so much easier to set up on my laptop. OSX is pretty solid to be honest, if you know how to use it, you can do just as much on it as linux, and potentially windows.
I’ve got mac os leopard, windows 7 final, and ubuntu installed on my PC, and I dunno what you guys are talking about.
Windows XP is clearly the best.
I wish I hadn’t installed 7.
The line: You crossed it. :hmph:
You best be trollin’ son.
He is not trolling, Windows XP is a less demanding OS, which means more of your RAM can be allocated to your games.
