Mr. Ekko was pretty awesome too, until he began building churches, at least.
I’m going to try watching it from beginning to end again too, by the time season six comes on television here.
And sci-fi doesn’t have to have any real grounds in science. It has to have a believable explanation, is all. Time travel in Star Trek came across as believable while watching even though the science behind it was probably complete bullshit.
While Lost explains it, it is in terms of pseudo-science, not actual science. Just because you think it is plausible does not make it so. Also, the rocket scientist is a fictitious character, so I don’t see what he has to do with your point.
EDIT: That wasn’t my point, Psyborg, I was simply saying it wasn’t sci-fi. I have no problem with the show having time-travel.
Mr Eko was a tragedy, I don’t know if some of you know this, but Mr Eko wanted to be killed off because he didnt like working in hawaii, or something, I really wished he decided to stay though, think it would have been golden to see him challenge Lockes rule in season 4
EDIT: Tbf soup I think Lost is almost every genre on the planet, it has elements of everything… prob why its so awesome
On Wiki for example it says its a, adventure, drama, fantasy, science fiction, thriller
And I’d love to hear what you think defines “science fiction”?
Well all fictional work might have things that resemble each other. That is just the result of it all being made by humans who live in the same world. Obviously we are affected by each other and will be inspired by different things.
So yes you might spot things in Half-Life that reminds you about Lost and vice versa. Doesn’t mean there is any direct connection.
ALso I really don’t think the OP’s intention was to have a “Does LOST suck or not” discussion. More a discussion about LOST itself.
And yes I’m glad next season is the last one. The mystery is what made me keep watching it. I don’t think it would have been as good if they explained everything.
Except that it is likely that there is, seeing as J.J. Abrams (creator of Lost) and Gabe Newell (hopefully you know who he is) are friends, which is also the reason that there are Lost references in Episode Two, and in one episode of Lost, the one where Sayid infiltrates a terrorist cell I think, they can be seen playing Half-Life on a Playstation 2.
No, you don’t go up to people that are talking about soccer and go “Yeah, I hate soccer, it’s so fake with all the numbers and such.”. Your argument is dumb as fuck and can be used with virtually EVERY series.
It has no GROUNDS, because it has never been disprove or proven, so like I said before, you have no room to talk. But hey, way to selectively respond, you just made yourself look like a bigger idiot than before, way to go!
Oh yeah, I’m so sad that a 13yr old on the internet doesn’t like a show I like. The entire negativity in this thread are people trying to play “big internet tuff guy that plays by NOBODIES RULES” by going “LOL A THREAD ABOUT SOMETHING, “SUBJECT TITLE” SUCKS!”. Seriously, your argument is mediocre at best, like I’ve said before, LOST is not the only show/movie/game to LIE about how something happens.
God, next you’re going to go in a thread that has people talking about Eureka or something and you’ll be all “THIS SERIES SUX CUZ IR HAS SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE AND EVERYONE KNOWS U CANT HIDE A TOWN WITH A SHIELD THING LIKE DEY HAVE WUTT”.
Yes we all know LOST isn’t real and somehow I doubt anyone here actually thought LOST’s explanation on how they time travel was totally realistic. While I’m on the subject, why don’t you bring up on how LOST is not realistic in the following:
Healing island
Black smoke, mechanical sounding creature
Adam & Eve
Two people living for eternity
A LIVING island.
Actually it is, LOL. Where do you come up with this shit?
Yeah, wow. You’re definitely maturely and logically talking about a series alright. Haha, wow.
Although I know this comes with being on this forum, you make a thread about cookies and you get people that come in and say “COOKIES SUCK” it’s rather natural here and I could careless, Like I said, your and their loss I wont loose any sleep over it. But what really annoys me with your posts is that every single post you’ve posted here is:
“Lost sucks”
then:
“time travel is SO not possible”
then when someone proves you wrong, it’s all:
“time travel has no GROUNDS in science”
Let me try to explain something for you soup,
90% movies/games/shows/infomercials are not REAL and full of SHIT. God, I hope you didn’t watch Star Wars or maybe play Mass Effect, because all of their science in OUR world essentially have no “GROUNDS” to be real. Most movies/games/shows create their own little universe where they twist the “real” laws of science/possibilities. LOST is NO exception to this and never ONCE did the developers say this TV show is real.
That’s the best thing about stuff like that, if you want to play/watch a game/movie that’s 100% real with 100% possibility IRL, then why are you even on THIS forum?
oh god here comes the selective post that ignores all the shit that destroys his argument and is something like “NUHU UR WRONG I RITE MEYBE U SHULD REREAD MY POSTS LUlll U FAG”[/SIZE]
yeah I heard about this, Damon and Carlton actually offered the president one question they will secretly answer to him for doing it, another perk of the job, one that we lost fanatics would kill for!
I was going to summarise my argument, since you made the same point over and over, but I sure don’t want to be selective!
By the way, in my last reply to you, I answered every point in your post. That’s not very selective.
I might do. How could you know? Also, I’m not sure what you think my argument is.
If it has no grounds, it’s not scientific. Methinks someone that doesn’t know what science is might make themselves look like more of an idiot, but I’m not one to point fingers.
Haha, if I’m 13 you’re certainly shaming yourself by acting more childish than me.
That part of your post almost made me wish I had been trolling.
Wait, you think my entire argument is about scientific accuracy? Hahaha! Oooh, dear me. You obviously don’t know how to write properly, but you surely know how to read, right?
My last post said that I didn’t have a problem with scientific inaccuracy.
As I said, no problem with scientific inaccuracy.
This is the first time I’ve heard about Lost - on TV or from friends - in almost a year. It’s obviously nowhere near as popular now.
Just thought I’d spice things up a bit. Considering the rest of my post was mature and logical (unlike yours).
Oh, wait, you obviously can’t read. Only my last few posts have been about scientific inaccuracy, the first few were about quite a few other things, and were the actual problems I have with lost.
Also, not sure what you meant by this bit:
Since your saying that I said “time travel isn’t possible” twice.
There’s my selective post that answers every one of your points, enjoy.
Also, you probably should reread my posts before you reply. Maybe then you won’t miss the point quite as spectacularly.
