Lost

I can’t believe there isn’t one of these threads already

Lost, the mind blowing riddle of a group of survivors stranded on a mysterious island with polar bears, smoke monsters and mysterious hatches, is coming to an end this year, and there’s less than a month to go before the final season begins. What have been your favorite highlights throughout the past five years? Who has been your favorite character? Have you any clue how this show will a) begin its sixth season and b) end? And have you enjoyed the ride?

For me my favorite highlight will always be Hurley, the Dharma van and his rescue mission at the end of season three, makes me smile every time, and my favorite character would be Mikhail, but he was only in it for a season, so I’ll say Ben

As for season 6 I haven’t a clue, but here are some clues to consider

A new promotional pic recently released, I personally think with the way they are postioned, those on the right will be the “white” (Jacobs) side and those on the left being the “black” (BSG) side, with Sayid the Judas amongst the BSG camp, but isn’t it intresting that would be almost similar to the last Lost split in season 4

The hieroglyphics mean who is the leader, writen once in white and then again in black

 • BSG stands for Black Shirt Guy, the one we saw at the start of the season 5 finale

I haven’t been interested in the slightest, and I will be glad to see it gone so that people will finally stop talking about this nonsense. From everything that everyone has said, it hasn’t sounded like anything has even happened on that show. I don’t think there ever was a point except to waste people’s time.

Lost sucks.

Never been interested in Lost, all I’ve heard is retarded shit.

When I first saw Lost I was watching a season 2 episode, and my inital reaction was wtf is this rubbish, but then my sister said to me, hold up, let me put the pilot on, I was up till 6am that night and even then I didn’t want to go to bed I needed one last episode, like a junkie needing a fix, and even though Lost has had its shady momments some (if not most of) season 2 and the first half of season 3, I haven’t regretted getting involved, its a fascinating show that every season reveals more, asks more, and drives forward at a daring and exciting pace, always finding new ways to shock and surprise you. The story is and has always been going somewhere, and as the curtain is ready to be drawn, it feels as if everything has been leading up to this season. Kind of like Harry Potter expect each book is a season. I challenge anyone to watch Lost seasons 1 through 5 and not be suprised, wanting more, laughing and at times crying. At the end of the day, in my oppionon, Lost is one of, if not the, best show ever created

And most of the people who have told me they dont like Lost, have never seen it, or have a too short attention span, to keep intrested, guess they should just stick to family guy…

Lost is highly entertaining, and for better or worse finally introduced an aspect of ‘if you don’t watch it every week then get the fuck out, we don’t need you’ to television. And for that and all it’s Star Wars references, I love it.

juliet is hot as heck also dead now??? damn

Personally I can’t wait to see it.

it kinda pissed me off when they finally (spoiler) got off the island in season 4 and then fucking decided to go back to the island. It really made me realize that absolutely nothing had been gained.

major spoiler alert
without leaving the island, Jack would still be hell bent on leaving it, his three years off island turned him from the man of science to the man of faith, Sun would have died from the pregenancy, Hurley would still think he’s cursed, Sayid forfilled his reunion with Nardia and so theres nothing left off island for him, and Kate, I’m not sure what she learnt… But some stories needed closure for the bigger story to push on and I think leaving the island was a daring move by the writers but one that was right in the grand scheme of things. And not forgetting we got the heart wrenching reunion between Des and Pen

I was very interested in the series when it was first advertised. But then I watched the pilot, and while I absolutly loved the story I got sick with the jarring movement of the camera.

I cant watch shows for any length of time that use that tactic. Plus the fact that in my mind, only shows with bad actors / bad scripts resort to that type of cinematography.

Clearly I haven’t a clue about cinematograhpy, if it was only the pilot you watched that was JJ Abrhams who directed it (If I remeber right Star Trek had a lot of crazy camera momments too), he only directed the pilot, so maybe the cinematography changed later on or improved, it might be worth checking out the third episode (If you haven’t already), which is directed by Jack Bender (Who became the most reoccuring director from there on), to see if his cinematography is more appealing

The exception being, of course, the Bourne trilogy, which are fucking fantastic.

Some shows/movies are worse than others. The lost pilot was the worst I think. The recent star trek movie was pretty close to that as well, but they at least had moments where they stopped doing the jiggle.

The first 2 seasons were the best, after that it seemed they tried to milk the show for money - I’m glad this is the last season and I hope it’s going to be good.

To be honest, I’m an addict of that style. I rewatched Blade Runner recently, and was all “WHY ISN’T THE CAMERA MOVING, WHAT IS THIS, AMATEUR HOUR”, then realized I was retarded.

Lost seems a lot like Heroes: starts off extremely well and then gains massive popularity in the first season. With a secure fan base, the writers then get extremely lazy, throwing in new characters every other episode and focusing entirely on plot, ignoring character development. The problem is that the plot then becomes entirely nonsensical: it’s based on mystery and nothing else, which quickly becomes shallow and annoying.

From series two onwards, Heroes was less than half the show it started out as. The thing that really bugged me was that the characters didn’t make sense any more, doing things that fit, or things that were just plain stupid. Hiro and Peter were the worst. If you can stop time and travel through time, you don’t have an excuse for getting in danger.

I agree wholeheartedly. Season 2 of Lost is the first season set of DVDs I ever received, and I loved every bit of it.

Wow, this show is still going? Jesus Christ. I got sick of the constant and seemingly pointless cliff hangers like 4 years ago. WHATS IN THE CASE?!?!?! Oh, its not really that interesting. WHATS IN THE HATCH?!??! Oh, that’s pretty boring too. WHATS THE MONSTER LOOK LIKE?!?! Dust? Goddamn, that’s pretty lame. WHATS IN THE COFFIN?!?!?! Oh wait, everyone’s tired of watching this stupid show.

After season 2, I never viewed Lost as anything but ridiculous. My last girlfriend made a big deal about how they’re time traveling now, and it’s so brilliant, and my reaction was, “they resorted to fucking TIME TRAVEL?”
