Loss of Interest in BM?

i agree totaly

It’s going to be awesome, so worth the wait

This Thread is over 80% filled with Cockroaches. An registration stop would be great.

Every 3 days, seeing a new thread like
"OMFG Nobody will play the mod because ! And dont close this thread because i want that nerved developers will speak with us about !! NOW! Otherwise angry cockroach gets angry and will leave this forum! So release it NAOOW!", is annoying.

Seriously. Just wait! I waited 5 Years so i also can wait another 5 years! …:3

That doesn’t apply to everyone. I only have 3 posts but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t following every single step of the development from the start. I found the answers to all of my questions without having to contribute to the forums, and I don’t think that’s worse than someone who has been annoying everyone for years with 500 idiotic posts. I agree that some people who just found out about the mod act like morons, but that doesn’t apply to everyone who just registered. I do my best to post on a forum if I have something to say, as opposed to many other people. I think I know more about what’s going on here than many people who may have registered ages ago. And I don’t think the more posts you have the smarter you are…

registration stop… lol

Upload more videos from the BM beta!Level screens are not that interesting, and at the end you will have screens of every single angle of the mod in that wiki.(imma just sayin’.Now i’m gonna get burned right ? )

Disabling the ability to make new threads until you’ve made, say 10 posts would stop on-registration complaint threads, but could increase 10 post spam to get that ability, unless you add a time limit as well.

Registration stop = food for the nubs to yell BALKMEASESDED!

That and about half of the cockroaches who posted in this particular thread were pretty cool guiz. Spreading the werdz of pashens around. At least, I think that was this thread.

I’m waiting for it for so many years that in general no longer believed in what modes exists. Wait tired - too long.

nope. waiting (lurking) patiently.

off topic

wasad, good sir. thirty posts of ingenuity clearly would distinguish you from the crowd. oder?

My hope of humanity has increased and today is a red letter day. :wipes a happy tear from her eyez:

Never would I lose any interest in BM. I am more excited about the mod, than I was for any commercial that was coming out by the days.

I can’t believe that the project is dead as far as they have come with it….why stop now? I have to agree, that if they would just give some encouragement as to the release date or show some different videos, that would sure perk up my interest. Maybe if there was a little less concentration on the BM web site, more effort could go into finishing the game.

I would say that having the devs interact with the forum, and get a chance to receive positive feed back from the community members new and old, would help motivate them to work on the mod. This community thou? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think that more could be asked of the devs… Well we could… but they are already bustin their arses tryin to finish this project. BM will be awesome, don’t lose hope. There is more than enough evidence on the wiki alone to show that work continues.

They don’t need to put out another date or make any videos. The wiki exists for a reason. Go poke around in there and check out all the new~ish media that already exists. Just beacuse its not laid out on the front page with a giant red button that says “[COLOR=‘red’]NEW SHIT HERE” does not preclude the fact that it, indeed does exist. Just gotta look for it and you will be rewarded.

Yeah yeah, devs, bleedin’ great so they are. Just as long as this thing’s out when I finish my degree. There’s no way I’m going to go looking for a job or anything, I’ve got like, four years worth of games to play through!

Wasad, if you would have read the cockroaches posts you would find that we have an influx of inteligent patient people again. there has only been one or two complainers in this whole thread.

Yes, yes youre all right. I was simply totaly down today :frowning: … yes not all cockroaches are bad.

I blame for myself! Keep on registering but then talk about something happy  I will never loss the intrest in BM

No worries Wasad, I’m sure the cockroaches you had in mind would have shown up in this thread if they weren’t too busy making brand new threads in the wrong subforums bitching about the slipped release date and suggesting the extra time is a perfect opportunity to add a fully automatic belt-driven magnum and a rail gun. :awesome:

You mean they’re not adding that? well there goes all my interest in Black Mesa… :meh:

This topic has re-kindled my interest in the BM forums, it seems… I’ve posted more in here in the last couple of nights than I have in the last couple of months.

must… regain… cynical… aloof… demeanour…

To put things in perspective, there have been a number of games made by big name developers that have been delayed significantly from their original releases. For example, Twilight Princess. Or just to keep from depressing you all by comparing Black Mesa with Twilight Princess, I should mention StarCraft 2.

Point is, even actual companies delay releases and can have significantly long development cycles for high profile games. Considering the fact that Black Mesa is a side project for the developers done in their free time, I say they’re doing pretty well.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
