Hello everyone!
As the title said, I’m looking for some good “old” games, like the first Unreal (the single player one), half-life, Quake or Doom. Or it can be any other genre, I just want to have some fun because the games nowdays bore me to death.
Any kind of suggestion would make me happy, so go ahead!
Thank you in advance!
Yes I know the site, I bought the ones I’m talking about in the first post on that page, I just don’t know which one to buy next That’s why I need advice from other gamers.
Diablo II LOD if you don’t mind hack’n’slash
The original Alice if you enjoyed Alice: MR
Morrowind is also pretty awesome. Try to avoid drowning in the sea of mods though.
VTM: Bloodlines is not that old but it’s so badly made you’d think it was. Still great if you patch it. Oh, it’s FPS/RPG.
NFS and Flatout or Richard Burns Rally if you’re into driving games or rally respectively.
As you can probably tell, I’m not really ancient enough to help you properly.
Also, it seems I’m not a fan of FPS. What the hell am I even doing on these forums? brb, gtfo’ing
The Wolfenstein series.

Emulator & Free old games.
Do you have any old consoles? Genesis, NES, that sorta thing?
I’d recomend the Monkey Island series if you haven’t played that, classic point-and-click adventure at it’s finest.
It’s not old, but it feels a little like it: Aquaria. An underwater Metroidvania that doesn’t use its indie status as any excuse to be low-content or even repetitive.
I’d recommend Terminator: Future Shock and Skynet if you want some games like the ones you suggested. They are pretty good FPS games with large levels, and they even had driving segments with pretty good physics.
You probably have it but if you don’t, descent is a great old 6DOF shooter, forsaken is too.
I suggest you check out Space Hulk (DOS/Amiga) and Space Hulk:Vengeance of the Blood Angels. Those are excellent suspenseful squad shooters if you feel like playing a tactical game similar to Aliens in the Warhammer 40k universe. The first 1 is free.
Also Strife is a pretty good RPG/FPS hybrid, and the Heretic and Hexen series are pretty similar to Quake/Doom but in a medieval-fantasy setting.
Oh and
Fuck yes. Get this game. The first one’s great too, and I think it’s on GoG.com
Hero Quest/Quest for Glory

A great adventure game series filled with puns. I wasted many a week with these beauties in my teenage years.
Insert honourable mention to Space Quest here.
The original Deus Ex.
Another World (also named “Out of this World”) beautiful game. Short but epic. And it’s sequels (sort of);
Flashback (a masterpiece that all gamers should have played)
Fade to Black (3PV sequel to Flashback)
For something not quite as old, Battlezone.

MechWarrior II series (31st Century Combat, Ghost Bears Legacy, Mercenaries)
WoW thanks for all the good suggestions, I think I’m going to start a little gaming marathon here Keep 'em coming!
I have this disc laying around here somewhere. It was pretty decent from what I remember. Sorta a FPS/RTS hybrid.

Since you said you wanted a late 90’s FPS. Also Deus Ex if you haven’t played it.

seriously, at this point, I’ve given up. I’ve waited and waited for a game to be half as good as SS2 (and Deus Ex too I guess)
it’s never going to happen, gaming had changed.
but the sad part is that you wouldn’t like it now, even in 1999 the graphics were sub-standard, the game was rushed to completion…
I don’t remember most of the games i’ve played, and I don’t even remember much of the ones I liked, even half life! I only have fleeting memories of some scenes here and there.
but I still remember almost every fucking square inch of the Starship Von Braun, and it’s inhabitants… and music…
If you like mindless violence, political incorrectness, and crude humor, then Postal 2 is probably what should suit you best. Think of it like Duke Nukem 3D, but on a smaller, more self aware level.
