not buying it. Participating in L4D compo next friday though, first prize is comple L4D2 pack, so that’s the only way i’ll try to get it. It’s just too soon for a second one imo, especially when Valve themselves say that it’s more of a remake than a sequel

The only reason I’m not buying L4D2 on Day 1 is because my money’s tight right now. Luckily, Christmas is around the corner!
I saw the trailer, it was nice. Not nearly as good as it would need to be for me to actually buy L4D2, but still enjoyable. Reminded me of half-life. The government’s here to rescue us, Oh no they’re attacking/bombing us! That reminds me, I can’t wait for L4D2 to come out, because there will less news about it, and we might get some EP3 or Portal 2 news not too long after.

However, I agree that after two years, I’m sick of hearing about Left 4 Dead. It’s a great game and all (and soon, I will say “they’re both great games and all…”) but I want Episode 3! At least a screenshot to tell us “Hey, we’re actually working on it! This isn’t Duke Nukem Forever! We promise!”
But if all this time is spent making this the most satisfying story conclusion ever, then I’ll wait. I’ve played too many great games with piss poor endings. I want this to bring me to tears by the end.

Really? I want an ending that leaves me yelling at my screen saying something along the lines of “Damn you, Valve! Who the hell is the G-Man?” I don’t know why, but as much as I want to know who he is, I also don’t want to know.
That’s the reason I joined the group to begin with. I was really hoping for and expecting some info about Episode 3 at e3, but instead they announced L4D2, a sequel to a game that’s hype was focused almost entirely on it’s replay-ability. Especially after a number of keynotes that game companies should consider supporting their multiplayer games post-release like TF2 then shoveling out sequels every year. And how they claimed would do the same with L4D.
I doubt it’ll look that much better then the first one, the features are trivial, and it’s the same price as any other game save for the preorder discount of 5 bucks, and the first one got old fast, so why bother?
If you get it in a 4-pack it’s incredibly cheap.
And by looks amazing, I meant the new gametype, the new levels, the new infected and the new characters.
And I suppose you might get bored of it fast, but I still play it every now and then and have great fun. Lately I’ve been trying to clean up all the achievements I’ve yet to get, like akimbo pistol campaigns and the like. Great fun, makes it a lot more challenging.
Some people are so unimformed about L4D2…
