I constantly get a “servers are overloaded” message when i’m downloading at school, either they’re blocking the ports or their servers are just crappy.

Dang it, Valve hasn’t fixed that bug that causes performance drops after a map change.

Also, when I went to load Dark Carnival the poster was such low-res it was just a pixelated mess of color. I’m hoping that was just some fluke, because I think I’ll go insane if that’s actually suppose to be the loading screen for Dark Carnival.

Edit: Stupid verifying game cache. 3 times now it’s told me there are 2 files it failed to validate and fix, and 3 times now it’s failed to actually DO anything about these broken files.

I know right? Well I found out the hard way that Catalyst AI does NOT work well for L4D2. Basically makes it run at <20 FPS and disables AA, plus makes all of the textures low-res and the game generally ugly as shit.

Also, why did it choose a server in Australia where I had 600 ping for the “Best Available Server?”

The crowbar is my favorite melee weapon right now.
2 things that really bother me though: the deagle is right up against your face, for one, and it is mildly irritating that the pistol view models don’t necessarily correspond to the world models. Otherwise, awesome game.

Ya, this is really irritating me. They better fix this soon, because some of the side effects are unbearable. Specifically the one where it kills performance after EVERY MAP CHANGE. Ya…
