Left 4 Dead 2

Looking sexy, as per usual.

Gameplay video.

Does anyone know if the command “exec 360controller” still works for L4D2 like it did for TF2? No need to start a flame war, I’m just curious to what its like to use the controller.

Whats this shiz about “price”? It’ll be free through Steam right?

EDIT: or is he referring to those micro-suckit-points to download it on your XBOX?

Free for PC.

Microsoft is charging for xbox.

Oh, mi-cro-soft!

Same hero_of_time from PHW? You should come back, we’re at phwboards.info now.

so leik… I know I’m really behind, but Hard Rain gave me a hard-on. I played it with my pal on the Xbox and I gave me shivers. I LOVED IT!

You most likely still don’t know me  but hot damn I thought that place was dead for good.

It’s possibly my favourite chapter. Need to play it on 360 so I can see the rain though.

Yeah, it works just fine. I occasionally use a controller, sometimes feels a lot more immersive for me.

Speaking of xbwarks stuff, does anyone know if they figured out how to do the split screen on PC like they did in l4d1? And about how much fps I would lose running it in l4d2?

The rain sucks. You can’t see. At all.

I think that might have been an intentional feature of that campaign, derpy herpy durpa hurp.

WTF is PHW? I’ve never heard of it, so I’m not the same Hero_of_Time, but I’m probably better.:retard: So can you answer my question or has no one ever tried sing a 360 controller on L4D2?

I miss L4D1.

L4D2 feels really gimmicky to me. It’s all about kill, gore, kill, kill, gore, chainsaw, baseball bat, giant gun that makes more gore.

I think it’s overdone, and that they’re trying way too hard.

Well, I never played the original…so if I might ask, how is that different from the original?

Well, from what I’ve seen most of you seem to be making judgments but haven’t bought the game(not judging you here, just pointing it out).
I own the game and I can vouch that it didn’t need to be an expansion, it is very well designed and though the lighting does bring out some small flaws here and there, unless you’re trying to shoot machinima in it or something(which I very highly doubt in L4D2) then it’s fine, and even if that was the case it still wouldn’t mean much.
The kind of flaws I’m talking about are very minuscule like walls looking unnatural, and I’m pretty sure I remember that kind of thing in L4D anyway.
So if you’re thinking “I’ll wait till it drops in price”, I’ve got no problem with that. I wanted to as well but I didn’t see any deals for a few weeks so my patience wore out, but if you aren’t going to get the game because it came out so fast, definitely get it, its worth it by a long shot.
(Yes this is my first post, I’ve hung around the site but haven’t had the give a care to make an account till now)

Nah, they kind of refuse to die. Right now they just bought phwonline.net, and they have a new site and forum in progress.

The original was a lot more simplistic, whether that’s good or bad depends on how you look at it. It was also much darker, much more atmospheric. The game felt more “Everyone is dead or infected, society’s collapsed, and the government has given up on us! We gotta get the hell out of here…” and less “Hell yeah, lets go kill zombies and play carnival games!”.

I have the game, it’s a good game.

It’s just a lot of it seems to be gimmicky fanservice items that are impracticable or over-the-top. It’s also very silly compared to the first one, and that I do not like.

The environment/models felt TF2-ey at times. Coach just looked like the cartooniest thing in the world… I’m not saying it looked exactly like TF2 does, but all the survivors felt… TOO vibrant. I understand they had to make them stand out above the hordes of zombies, but making them look fake (as opposed to the REAL-looking zombies [lol…]), just didn’t seem to do it for me.

Hard Rain: favorite level. but the starting area (while it’s still not raining) just felt fake. Coming back and through the shitstorm it was awesome. Maybe it’s just the lighting that I found off…
