The demo is fuckin amazing
Played for a few hours. Awesome. I now see why the mature version was rejected in Australia. Being able to see a zombie’s intestines, and having a guy you shot both arms off of still running at you is pretty distressing.
I shot a zombie in the crotch with the desert eagle and his pelvic cavity blew open exposing the insides.
I was like… :awesome:
I like how the demo was released “28 hours later” than it was supposed to.
And it’s awesome.
More of the same awesome zombie killing, but WITH A FUCKING GUITAR.

My God, the gore system is way beyond my expectations. Extremely fucking cool. And those melee weapons are so fucking brilliant. GUITAR! twang FRYING PAN! clang
Boomer bile bomb is big fun. BIG ASS ZOMBIE FIGHT lol. Adrenaline rocks, makes me feel like the TF2 Scout, just need that baseball bat. “Yo zombies, YOU SUCK!” DEFIBRILLATOR! Charger shits me up, and I keep trying to melee him off people and he just looks at me like I’m fucking stupid and carries on pounding away. Jockey laughter is insanely freaky, and the Spitter keeps incapping us all. 
New Hunter, Smoker and Boomer (fat woman ftw) skins rock. RIOT COP ZOMBIES WITH BULLET PROOF ARMOUR! They get knocked down, but they get up again, you’re never gonna keep them down. Until you blow their backs open with a shotgun until you can see their spines. :jizz:
For the love of pickles this demo was great.
Seems more than fun and even beyond my expectations !
I’ll wait few weeks more to enjoy it.

yes I know it’s a rumor, but it’s still awesome.
My gut tells me it’s going to be a DLC that you pay for, but I feel like VALVe wouldn’t do that, to the PC players at least.

I can’t play the demo. I click on it, it brings up the window that says “Preparing to launch Left 4 dead 2 demo,” then a console window flashes (too quickly for me to read it) and it quits.
Edit: I ran it from the console. It says “too big to fit in memory.” WTF. Is 2 gigs not enough?
I hear restarting steam twice fixes that.

That message means it’s not decrypted yet, so try verifying the integrity of the cache
Right click the game -> Properties and then I think the second tab.
Also restart Steam after that.
I’ve done that 3 times now. I’ve also redownloaded it. And deleted clientregistry.blob.
EDIT: FIXED!
just unmarked the folder as read-only. If anyone wants to post that on the steam forums… on second thought, maybe I should let them figure it out for themselves.
