Last Film You Saw

Iron Sky. Very enjoyable, very crazy, and a little bit typical in places. Much better than it should have been. Under normal circumstances a movie made under such conditions would such, but they made it work.

have you seen flubber

I love the finale hallway chase in Attack The Block. They are just men in suits, but fucks damn that looks awesome as they chase the kid down the hall with their glowing teeth gnawing at his heels. It’s that type of thing that makes cinema shine.

I am going to the movie theaters tomorrow and want to know what movie you guys recommend I watch. Here are the movie listings for the theater I’m going to:

After Earth, Epic, Fast & Furious 6, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Great Gatsby, The Hangover 3

I’m really torn between Epic and Star Trek, but want to hear you guys’ input.

Iron Man 3 was pretty fucking great. It’s very much a Shane Black film through and through.

Iron Man 3 is the worst of the 3, but that isn’t saying much because I love all 3.

Star Trek: Into Darkness wasn’t as good as Star Trek 2009, but that isn’t saying much because I thought they were both great.

Either one of those two is a great movie.

I, um, decided to watch ā€œEpicā€. I’m kind of obsessed with fully computer-animated movies, y’see. Plus, the girl (MK) was kind of cute.

This will remain relatively spoiler free. I intensely disliked the slug and snail characters (Mub and Grub). I felt that the motivations behind the Boggans were very weak. I did like the interplay between MK and the Leafmen, however, and MK’s relationship with her father was very well done.

And the animation, visuals and sound design were, if I may be unoriginal for a second: epic. It was perfect!

I give the movie 3 stars out of 4.

The Great Gatsby.

I liked the story, the acting, the stunning visuals (though I did go for the regular version, no pointless 3D for me) and the soundtrack.

Not sure why so many people dislike this movie… Though I’ve never read the book, so that might be the reason.

Iron Man 3… guess Marvel’s ā€˜lucky streak’ has pretty much ended, huh?
Gonna see G. Gatsby at some point then it’s back to Takeshi Kitano flicks for me.

Over the last couple of days I watched the entire View Askewniverse movie series, and now I can’t wait for Clerks 3 to come out.

Man of Steel

It was very entertaining, but I still say it could have been two or three movies. One of them wouldn’t have had any Superman in it, taking place entirely on Krypton before Kal-El is born, but still, there was enough going on there for a full movie.

And I had a couple of small complaints. The colors were a bit drab, some of the action was a bit hectic (it makes sense due to the superhuman nature of the people fighting, but still, hectic), and:

[COLOR=ā€˜Black’]Why does Zod want to terraform Earth when he would lose his superpowers in doing so?

I also saw it last night. I thought it was pretty awesome and definitely very entertaining. You’re right, the opening could have been it’s own movie, but it would hardly be a Superman movie. Still would be cool to see.

My biggest complaint was, and while I’m gonna hide this I’ll try to make this not spoilerly: [color=’#191919’]Superman didn’t seem a whole lot like Superman when it came time to fight. First, he didn’t seem to be very good (which I can accept as him not being used to fighting yet), second, he missed lots of opportunities to thwart Zod, but third and most importantly, he didn’t seem to try to prevent casualties at all. Take the small town fight: He tells people to go inside and hide and then keeps the fight right freaking there, allowing himself and other objects to smash into buildings and explode and stuff. But he only expresses any kind of feeling towards loss of life at the end, when, well you know. Maybe because it was over and he finally realized all of what happened? Dunno, just seemed kind of off. I would give it 8.5/10.

Because [color=’#191919’]Zod doesn’t care about his powers, he only cares about protecting Krypton. That was his birth imprint, to be a protector and warrior of Krypton. The only way he knew how to do it once Krypton was gone was to recreate Krypton on Earth. Plus if he loses his powers so does Superman, so it doesn’t really bring his plan down any.

Also for future reference you might use COLOR="#191919" and /COLOR (with brackets ofc) instead of changing text to black, it’s the background color of the post body area. Well, actually puts on nerd glasses the top of it is a gradient starting at 111111, then goes from there down to 191919 within a few lines. So if your spoiler is at the top of your post then something around 151515 might be better. takes off nerd glasses But it’s just to prevent accidental spoilers so it’s not that big a deal, black is just still a little bit too easy to see I think.

I can’t read black on almost black. I wasn’t trying to completely hide the text, just make it less easy to write.

And I like that they gave Zod a better motive this time around. He loved his planet, and wanted to save hie people. He went about it the wrong way, and was still a villain, but his wants and goals were understandable, and you could almost agree with what he was trying to do, as poor as his moral compass was…

Atlantis: The Lost Empire, since it turned up on Netflix. I loved this movie when I was a kid, and it’s still really good.

That submarine is still awesome, too.

Saw man of steel the other day, liked it a lot more then I thought I would.

the design of the leviathan is so fucking cool. THat whole movie is gorgeous. It’s probably influenced me more as a content creator (saying artist kinda… ugh. It doesn’t sit well with me) than anything else in my childhood.

I’m pretty sure that movie is solely responsible for starting my love affair with Dieselpunk.

Fuckin atlantis

Office Space

Can’t believe I hadn’t ever seen it before. It’s pure epic!

Man of Steel, loved it even though I apparently shouldn’t have. The overall aesthetic of all the kryptonian shit was so fucking cool. The color correcti–genocide was pretty shitty ofc, being a modern movie. The sound design was YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. Superman actually using his powers was YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Zod’s lisp was YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. The Skrillex doomsday machine/ bass dropping machine was YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA

8/10 would Justice League
