Last Film You Saw

The first one grew on me with every watching. It has gotten to the point where I really enjoy it as much as, or more than some Pixar movies.

I caught the last 1/3 to 1/2 of Shutter Island. The plot twist was good, if a tad predictable, but that ending… Damn.

I only wish I’d seen the first part of the movie; there must’ve been some really good foreshadowing and symbolism, from what I saw. Like, does the lighthouse represent the truth or understanding or something?

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. A bit difficult to follow, but pretty good nonetheless.

Same here, just saw it and I loved it.

I didn’t know that was out already, gotta go see that one too.

It’s not out in the states until the coming weekend.

Oh. I see. I still don’t understand why the US isn’t first to get US-made movies.

EDIT: Well I read up on it but it still doesn’t make total sense to me. But I guess they must know what they’re doing with all the money they’re raking in.

The Dark Knight Returns part I and II. Loved it. Part II was a bit cluttered but eh, whatever.

The last movie I watched was on netflix, it was called ā€œInterview with a hitmanā€. It wasn’t that bad of a movie. It had the right amount of action with a good amount of plot as well.

The Watch. There were a few things that could have been cut out to make the good parts better, but it was entertaining enough to pass the time on a Sunday evening.

saw world war z just now its v bad dont see it

That’s one of those things that aren’t up to you.

Escape From Planet Earth. It was ok. Don’t go out of your way to see it, but you don’t have to dread watching it if someone else wants to.

A Town Called Panic. This movie is freaking hilarious, you should check it out if you have Netflix. It’s this bizarre French stop motion film about the adventures of a horse named Horse and his idiot friends, Cowboy and Indian. I’d say more about the plot but I think it’s funnier if you just watch it in all it’s absurd glory.

Editing this post to avoid a double post. Saw World War Z just now. I’d say it was pretty good, it had some genuinely tense and desperate moments, good acting all around, and a decent storyline. Have never read the book though so I don’t know how it compares.

I watched Home Alone 1 and 2 for the first time in like years. Wow, that entire family is shit honestly. They forget a kid twice, ignore the fact that he’s bullied constantly, and are just generally incredibly rude to their kid…it makes me wince thinking about it.

Just watched looper. I thought it would be some kind of sci fi pastiche but it was actually pretty great. Surprisingly good.

What confuses me about those movies is that I have yet to find any evidence of controversy over them. It’s a kid’s movie where the villains repeatedly walk away from getting electrocuted and falling several stories headfirst onto concrete. How on earth has nobody ever thought that that would give kids the wrong idea about what’s dangerous?

it’s one of those rare examples of media where everyone agrees that it’s just a wacky violent romp in the spirit of entertainment and nobody in their right mind would ingest it as break your little brother in half/cop killer training

I liked Looper a lot, but I didn’t enjoy the fact that it takes half of the movie to set up the universe. It’s a great universe too that should be used in more movies, but it felt wasted with only haf a movie.

Basically. I have no idea why I watched em again…I don’t even like em. I guess I was just that bored.

I saw Pacific Rim at the IMAX today. Man, it is an awesome movie. The story is predictable, (kind of a spoiler here, it’s basically The Avengers but with giant robots), but the characters drive the movie well enough, which is basically just a vehicle for GIANT MECHA ON MONSTER ACTION. It’s what Neon Genesis Evangelion should have been from start to finish, with no budget cuts or psychological breakdowns to get in the way. Highly recommend it if you love the genre or big loud summer blockbusters in general.

Saw the Conjuring. Best horror movie I’ve seen in a long damned time.
