This is a subject I know very little about so I’m going to sit and watch the shitstorm this time

I mostly started this thread because I don’t know much about it and I thought maybe I could learn something by reading a debate on it, even if the debate is full of derp and flaming. Also, I’m curious as to what opinion could possibly be so offensive that you wouldn’t want to post it.
I’m interested in it too, I haven’t been keeping up with current events much
Basically I don’t think Israel had any right to invade another country based on the grounds that they’d inhabited that country 2,000 years ago. That’s not to sleight Jews, but if we condoned that, and it was an invasion, then by rights any nation or race who has been forced out of their homeland for whatever reason has the right to claim it back by force.
This is almost as bad as the Crusades in my opinion, as millions of people were uprooted from their homes and a land that they had occupied for hundreds of years and could rightly claim to live there. The only reason it went ahead was because they had backing from some of the most powerful countries in the world, which has caused a major rift between the East and the West which is still very much present today. And I still don’t fully understand why they backed it.
I’ll admit that this is only my very limited understanding of the situation, and if I’ve misunderstood something or if someone has a more thorough knowledge of it then I’d appreciate it.
I’ll say this though. Any attempt to destroy Israel now is simply hypocrisy. In an ideal world, land would be free to inhabit. It’s the taking of land by force that I find so deplorable.
Wikipedia says a lot of Jewish people fled from Europe to Palestine because of the Holocaust. They began to struggle against British rule. At the same time, there was an obvious conflict between Jewish and Arab people. The natural solution to end the problems would be to create a separated state for the Jewish and declare its independence.
So, it’s not like Jewish people invaded the country to create a new State, they went there seeking refugee and, once they were already there, they fought to create a separated State. I think there was no easy alternative to that, that was the best way. Or at least I wouldn’t know how to solve the problem in another way.
I learned in History class that the US supported the idea to please wealthy Jewish people in the US. I’m not sure if that is true, though.
Wouldn’t the best way have been to simply become citizens of Palestine in that scenario? 
Yeah, from my limited understanding, I think the best solution would have been for both the Jews and Arabs to stop bitching and live happily together. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they’re too tarded to do that.
I do know that Israel is about the size of New Jersey, and they are surrounded by folks that don’t like them much.

Yes, they are too retarded to live happily together. So there is no alternative to splitting the country. It is just not easy to teach the people not to be retarded.

there can only be a solution through compromise at this time, something which israel isn’t prepared to do (less so than palestine)
Right now, I’m not happy with the way Israel are treating the actions they have done; moving residents to illegally occupied land, for example, while saying it’s perfectly legal and their right to do so.
I’m just extremely annoyed at Israel, so I think perhaps posting anything would be not the wisest thing that I could do.
