on a purely theoretical level, It would be possible to cover this up. In real life black mesa is a firing range and in the game thats probably what people think it is, all you would have to do would is drop a nuclear warhead on the facility and say whoops, que flak from the press for not being more careful with nukes, and then everything would eventually quite down.
On the topic of soldiers gunning down civilians, you’d be amazed at what soldiers will do ‘because my boss told me to’. On terms of simply not caring what their doing on the other hand, HECU is only a single regiment and probably not a very large one, look at the various black ops stories that have come to light. finding 2000 people willing to gun down anyone and anything ‘for the greater good’ out of a population of 300 million woudn’t be that hard.
keeping the information from coming to light woudn’t really be that hard, Black mesa is a secret research facility, most of those ‘files’ either don’t exist or are already in a deep dark hole. Black mesa has dormitories and houses suggesting they don’t leave much, It was probably part of the contract that they fade out of view when they joined, then it’s only a small step to forgotten. thinking of youtube videos, I doubt that black ops would film this sort of thing while scientists probably don’t have cameras for contract reasons.
Finally phoning for help wouldn’t work as cell phones and wireless would be bust, while the phoneline could easily be cut

All the men died with no hope of treatment. The precedent for this was set in ww2 when 5 american test pilots died while testing a prototype long range bomber. When the families of the test pilots sued simply to know how their family members died, the threat of revealing national military secrets was invoked to keep the truth hidden. 5 years ago, it was finally let out that the design of the bombers engines lead to the failure that caused the death of all the pilots. the government likes to hold on to their secrets as long as possible.

I would say that it would be pretty damn easy for it to happen, but if the scientists knew about this before-hand and had access to some weapons I’m sure they could kill a few more HECU and possibly get the truth out.
Several people have mentioned the CIA, so I feel like I should point out that the CIA was supposed to send a lot of different units to BM. The Female assassins were born out of that concept, as were the OP4 Black Ops.
Our government, let alone our military, is not organized enough to cover up something of this magnitude. And with the media being a bunch of publicity whores, it would be on our TVs in minutes. But as somebody mentioned, maybe they could handle something small like in a remote town, but not in an underground govt. lab. It’s not like they could cover up a nuke being set off on US soil.
They could say it was a test, or something. i mean, BM is presumably in a somewhat secluded location in the middle of the desert. I think if anyone found out it’d leak from Washington first.

Zeitgeist is anti-Semitic propaganda. It has a lot of similarities to “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” a classic piece of anti-Semitic propaganda distributed in Tsarist Russia.
I watched loose change, which was pretty similar. I didn’t believe it for 2 main reasons:
- The world trade centre fell down due to bad design. I study civil engineering, and its a case shown to all students. Shoddy design, not explosives or cruise missiles or whatever (in fact, if a missile had hit it it would have been fine, except for a nice big hole)
- No-one has ever properly explained what the government got out of 9/11. As I see it, they got a war that I can see going very wrong very soon, and a great propaganda tool for fundamentalist Islam

what the government got out of 9/11 is major money and a very good escuse to invade oil rich countries because they new their oil supplies were going to run out. that ones just obvious (if open your eyes and actually think)
