Wouldn’t the opposite of a deaf person be a hearing person? :brow:
Yes, yes it would. Just ignore him.
IT’S GORDON!!!
Gordon Freeman is like a monk. He has taken a vow of silence. He uses other forms of communication (sign language, eye contact and pointing with fingers, mental telepathy, read my lips without me, Gordon, actually speaking, etc.)
Maybe he’s got a electronicly provided voice because he smoked alot in his teen years. If i made a Half-Life movie i would definitely use that excuse.
So it is, my Romanian friend, thanks to you I know know how it is spelled.
The true reason why there are no reflective surfaces in Half Life.
When Gordon Looks…
…You listen.
If that is the case then Gordon Freeman is a maniacal nutcase that people somehow find logical and decide to follow.
At least MY Gordon Freeman is…
I prefer simply:
poke poke
points at scientist
points at door that needs unlocking
:freeman:
fixed
It is not Raising The Crowbar! It is Raising The Bar.
Are YOU mute?
What do reflective surfaces have to do with autism? Are you autistic?
If I made a half life movie I wouldn’t star gordon at all. I would star some random person and their epic story.
But my name isn’t Gordan or Gordon.
Every autistic person I have encountered has a certain drooling quality to them. If the players saw themselves in the mirror most people would probably be a lot less fond of Gordon Freeman.
that didn’t answer the question at all!
I think the only reason you don’t hear Gordon talking in hl and hl2 is it would be weird in that wheres the sound going to come from when you hear your self talk from which direction do you hear your voice not every one hears there voice coming form the same directions so it would be hard to duplicate where you hear your voice coming from in a game for most games where your character talks doesn’t it sound like another character is talking behind you or in front of you but most people don’t usually think that’s the player but some other AI. so the best solution would be to ether make your character mute or just leave it open the the community if they are mute or just silent.
short version I think he is not mute.
"hey, you, Science guy, follow me I need a target dumm- I mean I need you to open an electronic door.
I don’t think Gordon is mute. He just doesn’t have anything to say. There are a great many games out there where the main character doesn’t speak. That doesn’t mean that they’re mute.
It’s just a game play mechanic.
Gordon has an extensive education theoretical physics. I do not. I can plug things in, push carts and flip switches, though. Nothing in Half Life requires knowledge of multiphasic particle fluxes or whatever else kind of technobabble/Flash Gordon sound/science stuff you can think of.
How do you make an Interociter? I don’t know! I can still enjoy the movie.
Yeah, Unlike Duke Nukem, Good ol’ Gordon freeman doesn’t continually talk to himelf like a musclebound idiot with a gun.
Hell, I can’t even handle prepositions sometimes! I meant “extensive education in theoretical physics”.
I was playing a game called “Discworld” and the main character, Rincewind, spoke whenever you did an action. Now, I like Eric Idle, but if you accidentally click in a place that is not a valid target, he says “That doesn’t work.” When I get lost, I just start clicking madly on the screen only to hear “That doesn’t work” over and over again. :fffuuu:
I’d prefer my main character to not talk.
