so, I managed to access the installer from the RAR files of cinematic mod 10 LE, but just after it begins installation it comes up with an error message saying Archive bin.zip: the zip file could not be found.
anyone know what the problem is?

Check the integrity of the RAR file, and check if you completely downloaded the file. Also the file could have gotten corrupted while you were downloading it, so try downloading it again if that’s the case.

why does it suck? oh and on that, maybe I should point out that I’m just installing the light edition.
Most of the time, the cinematic mod is all about Alyx with tits size of an elephant, but from what I saw, it also offers great improvements to the maps, and a load of new graphical candy.
just don’t install the altered characters and you’re fine in everyones books

Extract it manually, and copy the files over. I would do that regardless.
was the original plan, but the readme says not to do that or I’ll mess up.
you running the installer as administrator?
Also dont run the installer from inside of the rar, extract it to your desktop or something.
I did extract it to the desktop, and yeah my user (the only user, for that matter) is the administrator.
Ignore readme, extract anyway.
You have to unzip the installer and all of those, but there’s another file inside the data folder (or some such folder) that is also zipped you don’t want to touch.
Unfortunately, I imagine you’ll have to go ahead and re-download the entire thing.
As other people have said, don’t turn on the HD models. They may look better, but they kill the atmosphere in every way. You can still turn them off with the non-lite version.
yeah I already said, I’m only downloading the light edition; no new models or soundtrack, I hate the HD models.

As Savant suggested check the hash of the installer, or just re-download using torrents (built in hash-checking ftw)
