I'm confused by all the complaining.

Lol, I hadn’t realized it was his first and only post. Guess he didn’t have much else to say other than to rag on other people’s jokes.

I don’t think everyone who [apparently] trolls about the delay are really angry about it.
My bet is that the anxiety that you can see on many forums -not just these- to get a release date is aggravated by the fact that Valve hasn’t produced any HL related stuff since 2007, almost 4 years ago.
To be left apart from such a wonderful universe and get no official explanations whatsoever… well, many people take it on the BM mod team, maybe for their secretiveness.

What happened with Valve is, after the Orange Box was released, Gabe told his team to basically stop working on HL and do whatever they want, so they split up in teams and made a bunch of tech demos which were a massive flop. That and they had to start over with portal 2 because they were heading in the wrong direction (no portal gun, no chell, no glados)

Anyone who complains about Black Mesa taking too long needs to realise they are not the center of the universe.

The kind of mentality it takes to actually complain about a modding community making a free game out of their free time is beyond me, and I wish horrible things to happen to those people.

you make me want to not live anymore.

take a look outside your self-centered universe (ironic, i know) and look at what people other than you have to say about the retarded development time.

https://www.facepunch.com/threads/903597-Black-Mesa-Source-V2/page55 if you want to whine.

Relax, it’s just just a stupid, irrelevant mod.

Over a video game mod? Dude, you have problems.

it was sarcasm. Learn2Internet.

i dont think you know what sarcasm is

Honestly, sometimes I get the feeling that some people forget that this is a video game. They get so wrapped up in the excitement of checking the forums everyday, and looking at all the cool screenshots that they forget that there are so many other things they can do, and that in the long run this mod - while cool - won’t change their life in an extremely drastic way.

I actually think people will have more fun waiting for Black Mesa’s release then actually playing it, since we can spend days, months and years being surprised and excited by the new screenshots that may be added to the wiki or any other update of information the devs give us. Once its released it will be about 12 hours of fun, maybe 48 if you play it through a few times, but then it will just be in your steam library, and even though you may revisit it, you will never be as excited or enthusiastic about it as before its release.

Speak for yourself. I’m going to shit myself with excitement EVERY time the loading screen comes up alone. I can’t imagine what I will do when I have control of Gordon again!

Fuck Black Mesa.
Guard Duty is where its at.

I take it some of the BM fans are nervous today because the updates flow stopped almost a year ago, and it makes them think that the mod is dead or something else. Seriously, I don’t see any morally justified reason to assist them with new updates or information about the mod. They were impatient and this what they came to, in spite of all the updates they were given before.

Probably, it was about time due to the conditions of development, though the devs team is not a waitress team to come along with everything told by another wicked fan. Things will always be the hell for those who eventually cant wait. There is nothing to do in this case.

One scientific result did came out of all the BM business:
You can’t develop telepathic ability by wishing for it.

Not a single person went psychic trying to get the release date, despite ample opportunity.
The chances that all who did didn’t post it here are slim.
Therefore it takes more than continuous proper situation to develop these abilities.
QED.

NO NO NO

That’s why we do it. This is it. We’re relishing the moment while it still lasts.

And boy, does it ever!

If you allowed it for us to squeeze that moment for a little longer, we’d end up with a handful of dust and a cramp.

I’m not complaining. Just making a joke. I can wait. And wait. And wait.

Is true, I was angry because I am an impatience person, however, a few days ago I could understand that 7 years and more is completly understandable. And now I am happy. XD

Being happy is awesome! We should all be more happy!

What is everyone MOST excited about?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
