Fuck that happened with me for portal 2. My CPU doesnt have SSE2 so it says something like Error: blah.dll cannot be found or something and even after verify game files… grrrrr Im getting a new computer :smiley: parts but keeping ma 7800 gs graphics card :slight_smile:

i know it isn’t, but if the engine was to be used for another game(with explosions) that would have to be fixed.

other than that mirror’s edge was freaking awesome, both gameplay-wise and graphics-wise.

Luckily for me, I just found out about this Black Mesa Source project three days ago. Of course, I can’t wait for it to come out, either. I’d just hate to be one of you folks that has been waiting 6+ years.

Not trying to start anything here, but I think in terms of sheer beauty Halo (as a franchise) always had the best explosions.

But yeah. My biggest problem with COD3+ visuals was that everything was so fucking shiny. All the cloth looked like latex. All the skin looked like wax. The only reason why I didn’t say COD 2 is because normal maps were pretty underused at the time and no one really cared how they looked as long as they were there.

There must be only like what 7-10 guys working on this project right? I think I read something that says Black Mesa is now in Beta. I would LOVE to be a beta tester…I tested Windows 7 and Windows Longhorn build 5048 ~leaked~(later Windows Vista)…it’d probably be a zillion times easier to test a game then to test an OS…
