If you could have Portal Gun, what would you do with it?

So, lets think with portals.

Since it is possible to create infinite fall mechanism by placing two portals one over another it would be possible to successfully build perpetuum mobile device, thus achieve infinite source of free energy. I would use that to assume leadership position as worldwide energy supplier by delivering it for free, which would establish absolute governments and companies dependence from me. Having that I would order to stop all wars and conflicts, and become everyones dear king of the world. :slight_smile:
But first, I would have some fun with it. :wink:

Portals only work on the specific type of walls and flooring found in aperture labs. So I’d sell the thing on eBay to someone who thought otherwise.

I don’t think it works on specific type of wall, seeing as how you can place them on concrete walls during the escape.

I would probably have fun playing around with it, followed by experimenting with it, then when I get bored use it for convenience. ¦)

I dont think that would work well, because you can see ingame that the portal gun launches about as fast as an arrow. So I think the portal would take about as long as a space shuttle would, making the entire process counter productive. It also would not work due to the fact that planets move and you could not aim well enough to predict where it would go.

I may have taken this too far, but I just wanted to put it out there – these forums are boring as anything anymore…

Good points, but i would place a portal here on earth, then take a shuttle to mars and place a portal there in a prebuilt structure or something. so it actually has oxygen and stuffs

Technically it should be possible, but colonization need colonist to succeed, and who would want to live there except scientist? And I doubt even them would willingly settle there for lifetime. Seeing red everywhere would drive them mad eventually. I fail to see point in this. Not like autofellatio. Tourism could make you rich though.
