Twas awesome.

ah, now i remember - yes, u r right. on PC it was playable through DOS.

It staggers me how many technologically illiterate people have posted in this thread, claiming wild things like Macs being the solution to all PC issues, Windows 2000 being a horrible OS (when in reality it was one of MS’s finest until XP), Windows ME being anything more than crap, etc.

Their first OS was probably ME or XP and they probably never used anything less powerful than a P4. lrn2compute

First OS I ever used was mac OS 8.6. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have no idea what posts you’re talking about, but you should do like I do and assume everybody here is 13. For the record, I think the first computer I used was an Apple IIe, though we also had 2 PCs at the time running DOS/Windows 3.1, the IIe was ancient at the time.

13 is a little much. I just turned 15 and I’d like to think I’m not a total douchebag.

I don’t remember the specs of my first computer since I was very young, but it was probably a Pentium I of some sort. The first PC I remember was an HP I think. PII, 64MB Ram, 7gb HD. Not too bad. Ran Windows 98 until I somehow made explorer stop booting and I had to learn how to reformat the PC and install Windows 2000

I worked on a PIII 933Mhz, 256mb RAM, ATi Rage 128 Pro and dialup internet until 2007 or 2008. Now I have a laptop with a C2D 2.53Ghz, 6GB ddr2, GTX 260M gfx card, 17.3" lcd.

The only compatibility issue I had with win2000 was GTAII not installing, but that was remedied when Rockstar released it for free on their website (still the best freeware game IMO)

Have you ever played Cave Story?

Is it an RPG? Not a big fan of those lol. That’s why I said IMO, because I’m sure there are plenty of better games out there that I haven’t heard of, or some people might just dislike the GTA series in general

:stuck_out_tongue:

Holy shit. Links 386

No, its an action platformer in the vein of Metroid. Except oh so much better than Metroid. Speaking of GTA 2. I bought a GTA Classics Pack for $2 online that has GTA1, GTA2, and GTA London, but I can’t use it because my CD drive won’t read CDs. >.> I am getting a new computer in less than a week though, so then its GTA time bitches.

Also, I love Win98. Very good memories. :3

I dunno, I’ve played Cave Story and it’s kinda fun, but nowhere close to Metroid, though it’s not really LIKE Metroid.

Also, I’m not sure where you bought the classic GTA pack, but last I knew Rockstar gives it away for free.

Dude…Has anyone here played Commander Keen?
Man,I’m telling you, that was the best game i ever played when i was younger.
Also,it was the first game I have ever played.

Are you thinking of or I am I getting confused with “Dark Reign”?

Dark rain was a cheat for Age of empires. It made archers turn into trees when they were not moving.

Oh of course. That said Dark Reign was an awesome game, although the first tutorial made me shit bricks.

Use a construction rig to make an HQ, then build another construction rig with the HQ and build a barracks.

I proceed to do so

YOU WERE TOLD TO USE A CONSTRUCTION RIG TO BUILD A BARRACKS! Now select your barracks and create a soldier.

I thought this topic was about the OS, not the games from its age.

Well you are wrong.

Called memories relating to the OS which is games form that era >_>
