"I have decided to not release Half Life 2 Episode 3

Yeah, not playing through a whole game gives you full right to criticise it. Really.

I have noticed that you enjoy being contrary.

Let me quote your very own words here blue.

I liked Episode 1 and Episode 2 better than HL2. There really is no epic moment in HL2.

Well, I can’t agree with that.

Battle at Lighthouse Point was pretty awesome.

Follow Freeman was full of epic moments.

The Dark Energy charged Gravity Gun was really sweet, I just regret that there wasn’t much time with it.\

But yeah, Episodes 1 & 2 did add a definite amount of awesome to H-L2 continuity.

Without the '69 Charger or skeleton ragdolls, I’d like it way less than I do now.

The episodes are necessary for continuity in the story. They take us from Half-Life 2 to Half-Life 3

Picture this: what if instead of releasing episodes 1 2 and 3, Valve released them as a whole game called Half-Life 3, which they would have spent all this time making… Would you prefer that? It’s Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 weapons, it uses Half-Life 2 textures and models, Half-Life 2 graphics and physics, and it carries on straight from Half-Life 2. But it’s called Half-Life 3.

Crazy, I found the return into the Citadel at the beginning of Episode 1 was awesome, as well as the battle against the gunship from within the warehouse.

There’s so many things I’m forgetting though, but I do remember really enjoying playing through the Episodes.

Mangled* hit the nail on the head there.

I prefer episode 2 than episode 1, but if I have enough time I will replay hl2, then ep1 and 2 on the same day.

I you are being serious, then yes you are.

meh, it has a ghey leaf on it

Or the equally awesome New Zealand dollar.

Hey, yours has a gay president.

Orly?

I was speaking of Lincoln. hehe

Yeah, but that would be FIVE dollars.

If you’re willing to go that high for Lincoln, that’s your business.

If they would’ve gone straight to HL3, am sure they would’ve upgraded the engine quite a bit. But the drawback which was thought of at the time was that it would take a long time. So they decided on episodes in hopes of getting out games faster, albeit it didn’t work as planned. And even then you can see upgrades in the engine, especially in Ep:2.

If they would’ve gone straight from HL2 to HL3, the difference would be a minimum half of what was from HL to HL2.

OH SHIT! I wonder why Woodrow Wilson is on the $500,000 bill…

:jizz:

I Did play ep 1, and i said it sucks, and didnt ep 2, and i said im not gonna too. Whats hard to understand in that ? So i have all the rights to criticise it.
The problem i have with it is that it takes longer to instal it than actually paling it. 3h ? are they kidding me ?
If the realeased it as a half life 3, and it was at a normal lenght and with new engine but the same story i bet i would love it.

Oh, I totally agree.

Episode One’s biggest failing was that not enough was new or different than HL2, it felt too much like more of the same. Although there was gorgeous art design with the destroyed Citadel/City 17 and some really well put together fights.

Episode Two was the best HL game yet, IMO. Story, graphics, gameplay (puzzles were awesome and the epic Strider battle at the end was brilliant), cinematic physics, all were the best of the series. And it was a great length. Ep1 was definitely too short, but Ep2 felt just right to me.

Holy wut.
