"I have decided to not release Half Life 2 Episode 3

Instead we are going to further split episode 3 into 3 more episodic segments

Half Life 2 Episode 3:Episode 1:Eschelon Conspiracy
Half Life 2 Episode 3:Episode 2:The Gift
Half Life 2 Episode 3:Episode 3:The Last Brigade

each will be sold on Steam for 20 dollars"

wat?

yeah.

wtf is this shit?

Is this real? Is Valve really milking us for money?

inb4awesometopic

That is actually pretty funny.

Half-Life 2: Episode 3: Episode 3 :retard:

Sad but true…

no it’s not, you’re lying.

lol trolled xd

so fucking true, in stead of just releasing half life 3, they are fucking around with those episodes, every good developor would release 3 AAA titles in the time they released 2, 3 h long episodes, O_o

ye , you will pay per minute of gameplay

No, your wrong.

Valve have introduced “PPC”. It stands for Pay-per Chapter. Each chapter of the episode will cost around $5 USD. It comes into play some time next year.

I couldn’t tell by the $ that you were reffering to dollars

If they cut this episodic shit and just released all of the episodes as “aftermath” like they were supposed to, we’d have Half-Life 3 by 2012 instead of 2345.

Aftermath was just Episode 1. Episode 2 was going to be called Outlands, as can still be seen in some of the map names.

As for the joke of this thread, to be consistent with what Valve did before technically it should be HL2: Episode 2: Episode 1/2/3. After all, they didn’t call the episodes ‘HL3’.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Could have been the awesome Canadian money, or the cheap Australian dollar.

Actually, Aftermath, Outlands, and Borealis would have been WAY cooler than episodic titles.

When I first heard of episode one, I thought Valve was taking the path that George Lucas did.

Destroying a beloved franchise? N’ah, this is Valve we’re talking about.

So im the only one who thinks ep1 and 2 is a total fail ?
Episode 1 was just a crappy game, i wouldnt give it 5/10 O_o
Didnt play through ep 2, and im not gonna even try,i had ocasion to play it for 1h and i can say fuck ep2 …
