Idiots have very loud voices. The sooner you learn to tune them out, the better.
I haven’t turned on my 360 in a while. I was playing at a friend’s house.
Finished the game in about 6 hours on Normal, powering through it straight through with a friend in Co-op. Obviously it would have taken me longer if I solo’d it.
Normal mode is harder than “normal” Normal mode… I can only imagine what kind of nightmare Legendary would be. :fffuuu:
That said, I have to replay it again. There are a few plot points that I didn’t fully understand the first time around. But it’s pretty epic.
It’s a solid game overall though, if you don’t mind it being very much like… Halo.
So what do you think about the ending… was it, shocking? I’ll try not to spoil it for anyone, but damn, I felt weird afterwards.
I’m still really undecided on whether I like this game or not, but goddamn those graphics are something else. The visuals taken as a whole (there are obviously some jaggies and such that you can’t get around) look as good as any PC game I’ve played. Even my wife was like “holy shit, what are you playing!?”
I know god damn it!
I still can’t figure out how the fuck they did it. All the alpha effects are rendered full rez it appears, post processing effects from older games aren’t being used, but they’ve been replaces with different effects for the most part. The only flat out optimization I could detect from gameplay vids is in some particle effects. Like, the rocket launcher trail is done with a ribbon instead of a trail of smoke sprites and all that shit… but… The promethean disintegration and all those fucking sparks… I can’t even.
ooh…

This should be interesting.
The only thing i don’t like is the need to be connected to xbox live for watching terminal videos, and xbox live gold for playing spartan ops in solo mode. Because of this half of the game is essentially unavailable for me, since i have no way to go online with my xbox.
Yeah, that’s fucked up.
Yeah they ran out of time with the videos before the game went gold. They weren’t able to get the videos onto the game discs quick enough before production, so it was an unfortunate compromise that they were forced to make.
It was acceptable for me, although a tad odd in some ways. It’s not the best way it could have ended, but IMO it wasn’t a bad ending either. It pretty much succeeds in making you want them to continue the series. My opinion.
I just don’t like the lack of a real climactic battle. But honestly, there were so many epic runs and sequences in the game that I almost overlooked the lack of an end climax until after I was done with the game.
Silly question, but I’ve been hearing a lot about how the game managed to get the most out of the Xbox’s hardware and used all sorts of clever tricks to get really good graphics. Does this mean that it’s less likely to be ported, since it’s built for a specific platform?
No PC port, unfortunately.
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/07/shocker-no-plans-for-pc-version-of-halo-4/
Console exclusive games are usually programmed directly to the hardware, instead of being written for a high-level abstraction layer like multiplatform games and even exclusive PC games.
That allows devs to squeeze all of the processing power out of the hardware and come up with coding tricks that can only be pulled out of that specific hardware.
That’s why games like Uncharted or Gears of War 3 look a lot better than even the best looking multiplatform games like Resident Evil 6 or Battlefield 3.
So, to answer your question, yes, it would be a lot more difficult to port to PC, since the engine was coded specifically just for that console’s hardware.
that reviewer just brought EGM to a all new low
i can name a shit ton of “modern” shooters that are great and dont have “modern and up-to-the-times mechanics”:
Tribes ascend
Cs:go
Left for dead
Half life series
every fuckin halo game
quake series
unreal series
team fortress
Halo without ironsights is a complement, because it shows how much character halo has maintained for the past decade
They probably just did that to attract viewers for ad money.

the terminals of halo 4, featuring the ancient human empire, master builder faber, a semi-lovestory better than twilight between the librarian and didact
in all it’s epic glory
the ancient humans look very native american lol
Does anyone know all the locations of the terminals so I can actually unlock them myself? I only found 2 so far.
EDIT: Just played some rounds of multiplayer. My first match leveled me up several ranks at once, so no wonder they said the BR and DMR would unlock ridiculously early.
It’s actually really fun. It plays like Halo. I don’t see why people think it doesn’t. Even the ordnance drops and loadouts, both of which I was VERY iffy about at first, seem to fit in transparently to the point where I haven’t even thought about them feeling unnatural while playing. Somehow it all just… works.
It’s official but we knew it already, Halo 4 won’t be ported to PC. :meh:
Not by Microsoft, no.
[COLOR=‘Black’]there’s still Treyarch, though
Was that ever in question?
[COLOR=‘Black’]about Treyarch, I mean :retard:
This was the best Halo since Halo. Only thing that made me wonder was why the hell Pete Stacker isn’t played by Pete Stacker this time.
Now that _ is out of the picture with Spark and Johnson, arbiter has room to make a comeback fro Halo 5 or 6. Would love to play as him again for a while, if not a whole game. Arby Spinoff with dual wielding pls
