it’s not depth, it’s 343 letting halo make fun of itself in the most fun and enjoyable possible way
You could put it that way too. Heh. :3
FRANKIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I want a gif out of that.
So Halo 4 can already be found in torrent sites. It seems someone nabbed a few copies off of a DVD pressing factory.
Whelp. Look out for those ending vids folks. They’re gonna be around in about right now.
This was depressingly early.
OUCH.
Well it was gonna happen. Every game since Halo 2 was leaked. (Or was it 3?)
2 was leaked, yeah.
Look at MS cracking down on copyright claims. Even trying to search for leaks in the usual places will run into an MS copyright claim at some point.
Oh boy.
What kind of monster would willingly look to spoil this for themselves?
Dunno. Was just looking for the CGI prologue since… you know, it’s a prologue and doesn’t actually spoil the game.
you
MONSTER[/SIZE]
(I was referring more to the ending videos.)
After some searching, I just spoiled myself the opening CGI scene for Halo 4. I have no regrets.
It has no real story spoilers, just a recap of MC and the Spartans, and where they came from… which means it’s not anything new nor groundbreaking in the story department. But it’s impressive. In fact, I could easily see it as a trailer that could be used to build up hype, rather than as an actual spoiler.
If anyone wants the link I guess PM me since I won’t link it here.
-dead link-
Bahaha yet another Halo 4 video bites the MS Banhammer.
well, it was fucking awesome when it existed.
Waypoint disabled comments on all their vids. No spoiler comments. Fuck yeah.
This may have been discussed in the last Halo 4 thread, but how was Glasslands? I know it’s kind of written inconsistently and displays characters as having traits that they never had before, but I’m curious if I should read it before playing the game.
I’m a total hound for story in games, and I really have enjoyed every scrap of lore I have been able to find pertaining to the Halo universe (so far every book I’ve read from the series has been brilliant…still working on Primordium, though).
I loved Glasslands. It didn’t display anyone inconsistently, really. It explored a different side of the characters more than anything, and fleshed them out as actual people… something that the other novels consistently fell short on, or avoided altogether. The book explores the morality of a number of things that you wouldn’t have thought to question, and the sort of cause-effect relationship between a lot of major elements of the Halo universe. And then there are a ton of other things that tie in with the Halo lore very well. Karen Traviss really knows her Halo.
People dislike how Halsey is portrayed in the book, but I disagree. It’s not that Halsey is being put in a negative light… it’s that the author was portraying a character (multiple characters, actually) who hated Halsey’s guts… and that character(s) happens to be working with ONI, which frequently deals with lies and misinformation. There is a distinct difference.
The fact that readers consistently fall for that is proof enough that Traviss wrote that side of the story well. Those are the people who forget that character point-of-view is an important part of any literature, and that it’s critical to understand that a character’s point-of-view is not necessarily the truth, even if that character forces that view upon other characters.
