Well if anyone can do it, it would be Halsey. But Chief is probably desperately grasping for anything that could keep Cortana alive, or he might just be deluding himself to not think of her inevitable end. It’s interesting because Cortana is facing a very Human quality: her own mortality.
Past the rampancy stage though, it’s theorized that there is a final stage of AI, called metastability. A metastable AI is no longer just an AI program. If they get past rampancy, they become fully sentient beings, and are no longer restricted to the robotic constraints of being an AI, due to the increased number of pathways that form in their processing matrix.
It’s only theorized though. If there were only one AI to be an example of this, it would be Mendicant Bias after sitting in that Forerunner dreadnaught for 100,000 years repenting for his crimes.
I guess that means that that’s EXACTLY what is going to happen.

i was thinking more of seeing humanity become a tier 1 species again (as humanity has all the tools needed to become the new forerunners ; in which later they would either start a showdown against precursors or fullfill the precursor’s “test” and eradicate the flood
i just know eventually the precursors and flood will return (the flood cant truly be defeated according to the timeless one; the human victory(s) in the prehistoric times and modern times were just tests of worthiness for the mantle

Well first we need to figure out what the Didact is up to. The Thursday War implies something very sinister about him…
Most likely the didact will just unleash his vendetta against humanity (as the only thing that prevented him from not wanting to kill humanity was the librarian, his wife)
but with the librarian either dead or somwhere else in the universe (no comfirmation until silentium comes out)
the didact is left, the last of his species, with nothing to do BUT vent his anger on the fact the humans were the intended inheriters of the mantle, how the humans defeated the flood, and how they are the forerunner’s reclaimers.
It could be a act of jealousy or just a grudge (the ur-didact was the one who faught and defeated the ancient-advanced human genus’ in the war)
and remember guilty sparks quote “the ancient enemies returned” in the halo CEA terminals; by “ancient enemies” guilty spark was referencing the ancient humans
he could’ve somhow contacted ur-didact’s cryptum via the domain while on delta halo (installation 05) and/or the ARK
its such a shame halo 4 only has 8 missions (usually halo games have at least 10 missions; reach even had 15)

Sure. Just download 3DS and install a whole ton of Halo-specific plugins. That’s what they use at least.
