Just posting here if anyone’s missed it:
Humble THQ Bundle (pay what you want and help charity)
CoH + expansions, Red Faction, Darksiders, and Metro 2033 all in this bundle.
Finally got Metro 2033, and for only a dollar.

I already have Red Faction, and I probably won’t be able to run Metro 2033 anyway, but I’ll probably buy this anyway.
Edit: Oh, it’s actually the other Red Faction.
I already have all those games except the CoH series.
I didn’t, so thanks for the heads up.
Aaand purchased. Thanks much for the heads up.
I probably won’t be able to run a lot of these games, which sucks because I really want to play Metro 2033, but at least this way I won’t be distracted during exam week.
Edit: Am I correct in thinking that, if I can run Skyrim, I can also run Metro 2033?
Just so you guys know- THQ is running a promotion on Facebook- like their page and you get a Steam Metro 2033 key. It is legit- I just did it and the key is tied to my account. Haven’t downloaded it yet on account of low HDD space, though.
They have also added Warhammer 40K Dawn of War to the bundle
lol no, not even close. Metro was badly optimized. But if you tinker enough with the settings, you can find a good balance between good visuals and good performance.
Ah, thanks, that’s good to know. I’m pretty used to having to deal with low settings, so hopefully I’ll be able to manage.
I have a bad feeling that more AAA companies are going to be using the Humble Bundle for extra advertising…
Yeah. It really sucks that they can get exposure just by giving ridiculous deals on their games and giving some of the profit to charity.
Way to sarcasm, ass hat
I always thought of the Humble Bundle as a means for Indie developers to get more exposure, not for companies to abuse in order to stuff their already overflowing wallets.
Except THQ is in some serious financial troubles right now and this actually improved their stock a little bit.
That may be, but I still don’t like the idea of this becoming common-place.
Steam sales sometimes sells games at like a dollar or so, how is this any more different? In fact, by paying only what you want, you’re basically only giving them as much money as do you think they’re worth to you, making it more fair for you than it is for them.
I don’t care about the price-cuts. I care about the publicity, Indie developers and how Humble Bundle should leave AAA publicity to others and focus more on the Indies.
I still don’t understand that logic. This isn’t robbing indies of any attention. Each bundle sale is its own event. They aren’t mixing AAA games with small indies, this is just THQ stuff for this one event.
I’m worried about it turning into a welcome mat for other companies to merge their way into the Humble Bundle. Sure, this is just THQ for this one event, but what about future Bundles?
Fair enough, but I’m sure the final say is still on the Humble Crew’s decision.
Maybe this was just an exception to the rule.
So what if there are more big corporations putting humble bundles together? Its not even like the humble bundles have ever competed with each other. They occur at different times. It’d be a more valid complaint if THQ came out and said “hey where are going to do our own charity pay what you want deal” while an indie bundle was going on but its not. The next indie bundle will get the same attention the it would if this had been an indie bundle.
