How you found Black Mesa

HELLO! and uh… I found it by looking up Half-Life videos.

Yup

I think it was mentioned on some gaming websites and I followed the link

youtube.

I can’t remember either it was so long ago. I probably stumbled across it after trying to find out what features were improved in Half-Life: Source, becoming gravely disappointed, and wanting more. I guess wanting is good sometimes.

Edit: Lol, didn’t originally have the space in Half-Life: Source, so it turned out as Half-Life:Source. Thats actually how I felt about it, too :stuck_out_tongue:

I browsed through all the mods of Half-Life 2 on moddb in alphabetical order. I squeeled in delighted finding this one.

I honestly can’t remember for the life of me where I first heard about Black Mesa. Perhaps ModDb…

Im find this mod on https://www.headcrab.pl :freeman:

I don’T remember where I found out about it… Are there ads on some sites? I’m not sure if I found BM from Concerned, or the other way around.
Otherwise, probably a post on some random unrelated forum.

Hmm, i was told by some combine about BMS, they were sittin’ near mah house…

Mmmkay those were not combines, just guys with combine suits and those were my friends >.>

My bro showed it to me, and I was like
However, I knew nothing of HL1 at the time, I just thought “Hmmm, that’s a good looking mod!”

Were they from SCIENCE and OUTER SPACE?

I think I first heard of BMS somewhere on the internet some time ago, possibly not too long after development started on the mod. At first, I wasn’t very interested because I hadn’t play HL1 yet at that time, but after I finally played HL1 about two years ago and realized how amazing it was, I started following BMS quite closely.

I searched up High Def packs for Half Life Source and found this.

add me to the list of people that found BM from wikipedia

I can’t remember at all how I met BM. But I’m just happy I did.

It was behind the couch the whole time!

Lookin’ for Sourcemods.

I was minding my own business, reheating a lovely casserole in the microwave when some guy came in and blew it up. Then he left and, as just when I finally finished cleaning the microwave, I heard screaming and a large alien went by, shooting bolts of electricity from his hands! So, I ran to my office and began researching on the computer and found BMS. I hope that alien caught the guy that blew up my breakfast.

Oh, wait. No, I found BMS via a friend of mine. He knew I was a HL fanatic (I’ve played through and/or beat HL, HL2, HL2:E1, HL2:E2, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Portal, AzureSheep, Point of View, and Portal: Prelude–the last two I haven’t beaten yet), so he told me about BMS…I think it must’ve been about two years ago.

Just last year, before the Server crash, I was looking around on Google for GMod addons (This was before I found Garrysmod.org, mind you) And this came in about seventh place.

Glad I found it

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
