How you found Black Mesa

I found Black Mesa cause I wikipedia’d Black Mesa (I was trying to find the article on the research facility) and it took me to a page of a bunch of different Black Mesa articles and on the list was the mod article so I read it and eventually got led to the website.

I found out about it in mid-07’, after searchin’ up Half-Life 2 mods on mah’ pimpin’ mod source. (Moddb)

Also, I typed in Google, “omg guise it wuz sooooooo sad when eli died” and ended up here a 2nd time.

Me: Oh I found a site called Black Mesa, what the hell is that for?
My friend: It’s a mod of Hl2.
Me: Oh…

I found Black mesa through the web comic “concerned”

I was looking for other half life 2 mods and found about black mesa since then just been following its production.

I found black mesa on moddb. Thought it was cool. I have been a lurker for a couple years though. It took the previous crash of the forums and site to make me finally register. lol

Google’d half life remake about 3 years ago

Me too

Through ModDB, it said ‘popular mods’ on the bottom right, and I saw “Black Mesa”.

I found Balck Maes under my bed. I was scared.

i was searching for BM map(geographic)…

I honestly don’t remember. I’ve been checking in on the site from time to time for years now. I’ve been really excited about it ever since the trailer was released, so I decided to register so I could participate in the general douchebaggery.

several years ago, prob 2005 or so. i read a list of the top hl2 mods (i think on planet half life), and the top ones in development. black mesa source was somewhere high on that list.

I don’t remember. Probably looking for this kind of mod since the release of Half-Life : Source

Found it about a year ago when I was just getting into Half-Life. Funnily enough, one day I just googled “Black Mesa” and then the teaser for the mod was the first entry.

Wikipedia in '06

A friend named Jester from Clan Gangsta Zombie [GZ] on Steam told me about it, and then I used the awesome power of Google to find ya!

As soon as I finished HL1 I was like- there’s got to be someone trying to remake this. I googled it, and found BMS

So been checking out this site for years now. When Half Life: Source was announced and then it turned out to be nothing like you thought it would be I google’d around to find Half Life remake.

Hell back in them days the guys were looking for people to help out and I even thought about applying such was my need to see the project done. However with no experience creating mods I thought better of it and been lurking ever since ¬_¬

Back in 2004, however I’m not exactly sure where I found it. My memory fail at the moment. :frowning:

Been following it pretty closely since then. I lost quite a bit of interest a time ago but became largely interested again when the trailer were released back in November.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
