How you found Black Mesa

A few months ago while looking for HL2 mods. But then again I first played HL2 only about a year ago. Glad I found this site only recently, not sure if I could stand it if I knew of BM circa 2004.

Waiting for BM because I didn’t want to play the original HL (with it’s “classic” graphics engine). HL2’s Source engine spoiled me… lol

Now I only have to wait a max of 7 months before I enjoy HL in all it’s glory.

Good luck to the BM team!

I don’t remember when I heard about it first but it was a couple of years ago.

It was however my brother who told me about it befor he became one of the developers. I’ve followed it closely since then.

I think I was looking for new Sourcemods.

You can’t just say that and then not expect to tell us which dev… :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe raw_bean or Hubi know… I certainly do not think that the Raminator has any clue :retard:

How should I know? I’m not a dev. I only really know Ram and James Kane, because they post here the most frequently.

You must know. I mean, you’re the almighty raw_bean after all :3

Maybe I’m just not telling then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Agree, he has the god law of forum in hand.

Oh, i find Black Mesa when i was looking for Half-Life 2 mod in youtube, back in late 2007.Wasn’t register until 2008.

I found it in their very first media release, when their site had those weird scrolly boxes for the media. I wish the media releases were more like the second one. I’ll always remember staying up for that.

Btw does anybody have the ms paint hdr pictures someone made in that thread?

Extensive boredom during an advanced U.S. federal income tax class spurred me into a passive Google search.

I believe it was the thread involving snarky counter comments based on the comments left on YouTube after the release of the 2008 Black Mesa Trailer. They were so hilarious my internet searching days were numbered in the class since I laughed so uncontrollably during a lecture the jig was quite up.

Good old Wikipedia.

Garrysmod.com. Was searching- wait that was how I found Leet World. Nvm. Well as for BM I was searching up HD packs for HLS and suddendly saw this thing called Black Mesa. I though “what, the hell is that?” and clicked on the link. Explosive diahreea resulted from looking at the media, and I pissed myself finding out that the mod was releasing soon, creating a wet “shit pancake” in my pants and well I’ll just stop there because you are dry heaving. :jizz:

Nah I’m going to go with you having no idea. Fits better :3

And what a dull year 2007 was.

I honestly have no idea how I found out about black mesa. Maybe it was after realizing that HLsource wasn’t what I was hoping for and doing a search looking for a mod that was.
It’s hard to say. I’ve been around the BM community for a long time. Jambo, and collision are about the only other two who I remember still being around way back when. Dear lord tell me I’m not the one who has been around the longest…and still posting as often as I do.
Does anyone remember the name of the forum moderator who was actually against everything the mod represented, and got booted because of it? What was his name again?

Basically, after beating half-life 1, I was hoping for a remake under the source engine, went to Moddb and found Black Mesa. The end.:3

2008 was so much better. We had Whoever, Appropriate Cat, Commander Keen and maybe some others that I don’t remember.

I wouldn’t say such things if I were you, after all I have the god law of forum in hand!

Wow, I just vaguely remember that. I think I was lurking back then.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
