How you found Black Mesa

Do they have much contact with the team anymore? Do any of the current dev team have contact with them? Do past developers even have any impact on the current mod in any sense at all?

I honestly have no idea how I found out about black mesa. Maybe it was after realizing that HLsource wasn’t what I was hoping for and doing a search looking for a mod that was.
It’s hard to say. I’ve been around the BM community for a long time. Jambo, and collision are about the only other two who I remember still being around way back when. Dear lord tell me I’m not the one who has been around the longest…and still posting as often as I do.

Yeah I reckon you, me, Col and goat are the only veterans left, everyone else either came a bit later on or have fallen by the way side. We’ve got to stick together till the release!

I remember a long long time ago when a cousin told me about Half Life 2, and how awesome it was. He showed me an early video of it from E3 one year, and I was hooked. I checked Halflife2.net each day as I waited for the release blah blah…

Played HL2, kept going to Halflife2.net, and I think it was there that I first saw Black Mesa Source. This was right after the LF split I believe, so I joined the forums. Right around the same time as geekofalltrades I think. And I’ve been around since then, I think most of the vets here know me.

As for SPUF, is that mishakoz you’re talking about? God what a retard he was. Did you ever see his mod ideas? Fucker actually got people to sign up for them before they slowly died a death. And I remember his application to join the dev team here as a video editor that took the form of him slapping some extra text on the final image of the BM teaser trailer.

Black Op has been around somewhat until not too long ago, but few here will remember his old school endlessly circling arguments. Never willing to make any sort of concession from what he thought the mod should be…which was HL1. I believe he was even against source engine enhancements like gravity effecting corpses/barrels etc.

I wish I couldn’t remember them. What really bothered me was that not only did he use straw man arguments and self-contradictory lapses of logic in efforts to bully people into letting him win arguments, but he actually was fully self-aware that he was doing so and was perversely proud of using 1984 style double-speak.

Yeah it was mishakoz, he was so annoying, suggesting the most retarded things that didn’t fit at all with the mod. He still hangs around SPUF but he doesn’t go near the BM thread thankfully.
