How you found Black Mesa

I found it on halflife2.net back in November 2004, I quickly applied as a level designer and proceeded to work on the mod for close to 4 years, creating the first map of We’ve Got Hostiles and all of Forget About Freeman (minus an art pass or two). I then left the mod and the scene for nearly 2 years, and now I’m back, just not working on the mod this time.

:awesome:

So many old faces resurfacing…

Holy crap it’s a Kester. O_o

Haven’t seen you in a while, welcome back.

On and off I guess =]

Too long ago, around 04 and 05 i think…

Anyway, I found out about BM while wandering around modDB. I’d seen a small article on it beforehand. This was mid 2005, I lurked on the forums then join at the start of 2006
.

Woah, Kester returns. Whether it makes 2009 or not, the sense that the mod is nearing the end is bringing a lot of old faces out of the woodwork.

Good and bad (somehow my laptop did the BB code)

Through the Black Mesa Trailer.

Off-Topic: I agree.

I just buy the games depending wether or not it seems good, not because of the developer, though a good developer will always have their game on my radar.

Huh, I’ve done the same with films.

Strangely Enough, I could see that happening.

remake of battlefield earth W/ Glau.

I was just searcing google for cool Half Life Mods

I found out about Black Mesa at the same time as I found out about Half-Life Source… I didn’t know there was a Half Life Source so I got surprised when I saw it in the Steam Store feature. I decided to google it and instead I found this  Gj @ missleading people, google! :3

I think I was watching an episode of Freeman’s Mind when I saw the trailer pop up in the related videos section. I decided to watch it, and here I am.

Can’t remember, it was likely when I was playing HL2, maybe ep 1, maybe before. But looked and saw HL Source and thought "oh they remade it with HL2 graphics?
Then after youtubing realised otherwise. Then when looking for mods after, I saw Black Mesa and went “I bet it’s mty imagination”.
And for many years, it has been.

Someone on GMod directed me to it…

What?

I think its the graphics, seeing as how the original was made what, 9 or so years ago?

2 years too short, buddy.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
