In 2008, my bro-in-law mentioned it and i thought, “Whatever, douche.”
I found it that night, and have among the faithful ever since. Bro-in-law has since given up hope. We don’t speak anymore, that ass.

It was fate…:retard:
I was trying to find old trailer vids for the first Half-Life to see what they looked like and ran into the Black Mesa one… It was instant love
It was a long time ago, but I think it had something to do with researching the Black Mesa Research Facility
I found it when I was reading something about mapping with hammer.
I don’t remember, i guess it was Youtube’s fault…or not… but i’ve lurked here since (i guess) 2007 but never made an account.
[COLOR=‘Magenta’]I found out about Black Mesa while trying to find some decent HL2 mods to play - you know, something to keep me busy while waiting for Ep.3 I saw an article about BM and have been stalking the site ever since.
in soviet russia black mesa finds YOU
I “youtubed” Half-life source and came across a BMS leak which lead me to the trailer which lead me to this site. I found this in December 2009. I thought it was realeased coz it was almost the end of 2009 and the trailer CLEARLY SAID 2009. I found out it was delayed… bummer… I just hope the delay is worth it.
I found BM when searching for Half Life Hoaxes! That was 3-4 years ago. That search led me to this forums (voted lamest forums on the net BTW). I then pressed the developers to produce a video of the mod being played to prove that this mod even existed and was in fact not a hoax. Thier responce was to link me to some stupid BS youtube video that showed a health station (on a blank wall of a cube level) that was skinned differently from Half Life.
What a croc of crap. BM is a hoax. After six years the devs CANNOT produce one single second of video of anyone playing the actual mod.
TOTAL HOAX PEOPLE!! YOU NEED TO WAKE THE F UP! BM consists (to date) of nothing more than a gallery of screen shots of different models and characters, and a socalled “demo video”. Which was probably produced for someones job application portfolio.
Prove me wrong: Show me video of someone actually playing a level or two from the actual mod. Not some BS box/cube level with a charging station on the wall.
Your eyes are opening,

Ages ago I was Googling a proper Half-Life remake in Source after I heard that the HL:Source port was an epic failure. I stumbled upon a LeakFree forum thread (I think) dedicated to making high-resolution versions of original Half-Life textures as an exercise. I then found a post by Kalashnikov in the same thread asking if anybody there wanted to help out with making a true upgraded Source version of Half-Life. At that time I don’t think it had a website. Or even forums. But eventually it got them and I’ve been lurking off and on ever since.
I think that’s how I also found the Half-Life Improvement Team website.
Played Half Life for the first time and accidently got a headcrab latched onto me. In my zombie form, I went searching for the BMRF over the internet, and came here.
Somewhen in 2006, been lurking here ever since.
Found Black Mesa through a Half-Life mod Visitors. I think…
Erik killer?
Fong better watch out
ErikKiller = short for Erik the Killer :freeman:
Really fucking old username akshually :retard:
I found Black Mesa…unfinished.
I found bms when I was looking for some mods on https://www.vossey.com/ I found it in the Source mods but i thought at this time that the devs team would quickly leave the mod development ,since it is a very challenging project to recreate the whole universe of hl1 …
Typing Black Mesa in Google.
i was looking for a half life 1 movie trailer and i saw the 2007 trailer
It is very interesting to share about how you found black mesa. One of my friend is hacker, he told me about black mesa and then i search on Internet for detail about it. Black Mesa is a complete re-creation of the game Half-Life, with the help of Black mesa we can do modification.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
