How would YOU release Black Mesa?

search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Actually, the mod is really already released! It is now hidden somewhere in one of the forums (I can’t remember where). I just remember it being a reply by ram to someone that asked if the mod was out yet.

I played it, then I deleted it by an accident and now I can’t find the download link :frowning:

after taking so much crap from alien spacecreatures and blasting them away with your trusty shoutgun, then walking away from explosions (not looking at them) wouldn’t you be all like “fuck their game”? after all, living through all that would make playing the game redundant. i’m sorry, but your theory is flawed as fuck.

I would talk to Valve about hosting the mod via steam. Then i would set up a torrent. Once this was done i would simply change the graphics on the website and basically give the public 2 links, one to steam the other to the torrent-file.

I’d release a demo of just the first couple of levels as a teaser a few months before release.

break up the game in lots of smaller files and then post as if they where video’s on the most obscure, weirdest and mindfuckingly horrifying gay porn site that WILL haunt you for the rest of your life and name the files as: 2scientist 1lab, xenlicious, scientistxbullsquid, the gargantuan, the free men, etc

I would never release it, oh wait… done already…

Ahhh, but when you see the aim of the Devs master plan you will understand everything.
They simply want to get all us lazy people outside and for us to get a bit of exercise. Perhaps even bond with one another in a hostile environment.
The devs are only thinking of what’s best for us.

goes on to explore that abandoned missile silo nearby
9Gb won’t fit on a DVD, so it’s a USB thumbdrive. Need a silicon detector…

I’d sell it on steam, ridiculously overpriced. Then give it out for free on piratebay and put a prize in the DL which is cheap, but once you buy it, it will just show sersoft’s avatar.

I would make sure the mod has a place on the steam mods section.

Then I’d encourage the community to spread the word on all the sites they can. That would make the mod well known again and get back the people who stopped checking the progress of it.

When planning to release the game, realize the engine is outdated and advance the release date by 4 years so they can update the game again :retard:

This game is going to be so awesome  Will be waiting as long as needed

I’d delay the release with six more years even though it’s done.

I’d put it as a download link just long enough for some lucky people to find it and get it, and then take it off about 20 minutes later. Then I’d watch the ensuing rage all across the forums as some people are overjoyed with the fact that they got Black Mesa and others bitch and whine that they were too late. Then I’d release it the next day for real.

OMFG, is this thread seriously STILL active?!?!?!

Dream on peeps, dream on! This mod was supposed to be released like 2 years ago now in December. IT’S NOT GOING TO BE RELEASED! No updates, no news, no nothing. All that tells me is that no one is working on anything and that this is a dead mod. Damn shame really, as about 3 years ago I was actually looking forward to it being released.

So, you guys can use your imaginations and play this little “how would you release it” game, but ultimately, you might as well be wasting your time doing something important, like surfing porn, cause posting here certainly seems to be a lost cause.

Again, really a damn shame cause I really was looking forward to this mod. :|:|:|

Don’t be so sure, even if it’s dead, it’s bound to surface sooner or later.
Keep yourself in good health, however.
2042 is far away.

This mod may go over the limits of your patience. It has already for us. Some people in the forums turn into trolls, some into retards and the others… well, let’s just say they keep some of the threads, like this one, still running.

RELEASE IT !!!

So, when it’s released, you won’t be downloading it, am I right?

Or will you’ll be one of the first ones in line without an apology and without a word to the devs afterwards?

Where “us” is defined as “DrasarSalman”?

Actually the devs are working so hard on the mod, they don’t even have time to update the news and stuff, but if the mod was dead, why would the forum still be alive and the developers still being here?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
