i’d delete everything of the game and make the whole thing a rickroll, and get alot of nerdrage on the forums.
Fact: If i did this I would give 100s of 1000s of people suicidal thoughts
I would only release the mod by mail. I would put it in an envelope and send it to all adresses in the world.
I would raise money to get all the developers to do a world mod-distribution tour like in the one dream I had a few years ago. Except we wouldn’t have to climb a huge set of stairs to get to them.
I would release it as normal, and when people opened it up, it would work. For about an hour, then it would open up a program which would then wipe your hard drive.
I would announce another delay, and release it the next day.
I wouldn’t release it for public at all and just play it myself and post awesome pictures and gameplay videos of it and let people rage.
This. in all seriousness though, I’m guessing this has been asked to death but a non retarded/troll answer would be nice… is there any chance of the mod coming to steam? or is this up to valve. it it’s completely up to valve i can see it happening.
If you’re sure it’s been asked to death why would you still ask it without searching and not expect to get flamed to hell. (and technically, with this knowledge, YOU are the troll poster not any response you get). And no, it’s entirely up to Valve of course. They are aware of the mod but have not (so far) offered to host Black Mesa on Steam.
Host it on a server with a dial-up connection. That way, it’ll be at least a day or two between it being released and other people being able to play it and re-share it.
No way, it’ll take weeks to download 9Gb over dial-up, and that’s with one person downloading.
With 10000 downloads at once it will be years before anyone would get the game.
I’d release it in one of those YOU ARE THE MILLIONTH VIEWER! things
Actually, I had no intention of being a troll, just to get an answer for a question I assumed had probably been asked a lot before, but without searching all over the forums. But thanks for the response.
I think they will let Black Mesa go tono Steam, as soon as they get a call from our beloved devs that the mod is ready.
Just getting this thread over the 666 hump.
Love to y’all.
That’s a very naive assumption.
Well, If the quality promised by the content that’s been shown stays true when It’s actually released, it’s not completely out there to make an assumption that Valve would probably pick it up. If the devs want it to be anyway. Based on the quality of mods picked up by Valve in the past.
i think they should release through steam “like a free DLC”.
it’s not up the bm devs “it’s valve’s decision”
Release the download then to extract it you have to enter a password that only 3 people in the world know it.
