How would YOU release Black Mesa?

Change the “Black Mesa is some hot shit” thing on the page? Add a trailer? Just tell the forum members and see what the hell happens?

Realistic or ridiculous, how would YOU announce the release of this baby?

In a cloud of sperm.

I would set a nondiscript link in the downloads page and not tell a soul.

Inb4FUCKINGSHITBLACKMESASBEENOUTSINCE2009

I’d host it on god-awful rapidshare and post on the forums: “Hai guys…released!”

Split the entire mod into 1kb files, upload them to a server where you need to enter an captcha to download each file, then force ‘about 7’ wait between downloads.

:fffuuu:

Uh oh.

On time :awesome:

Via a secret invisible link, that you can only click by accident, then see how long it takes for the forum members to find out, and spread the word. Maybe make a few bets on the amount of time it takes.

Maybe 2 weeks?

I would register as a cockroach and tell everybody in broken English + trolltounge that I have a 1337-ub3r-secret link to Black Mesa and that I’ll post it on the forums if over 9000 people ask me to

EDIT: Over 9000 penises. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slDAPms8Tvs

Simply add a download link to one of the FAQ questions, then see how long it takes people to notice.

I’d have Hubi make a new page for the website for the official release, and then release it about the 7th month into the year.

Slashdot.

In a cloud of smoke from BURNING IT!!

Bit Torrent… What else?

I would attach it a Google Wave, then invite everyone to it.

I would distribute it by mail to the forum members. As punch-cards.

Bwahaahaaahahahahahahahahaha… oh man, oh man, I love you

Hey, they allow you to attach files to waves, and there is no size limit. It would just take 2 days to upload.
If that fails then just stick it into a Google Code project.

I would Release it in two parts with the readme instructions written in Latin translated from Chinese through Babelfish.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
