I’d replace the homepage with a snazzy page that has a link for a torrent download with an http download under that and “Black Mesa Released Insert date !” written at the top.

Then I’ll suck valve’s dick to get a steam release sorted also.

I’d have a loop of the Anti-Mass Spectrometer spinning, and anywhere someone clicks brings up a menu of available download types, as well as the tech support section of the forums…

First i would shut down this entire website besides the front page which would be a link to a crash bandicoot 2 emulater. Too get the link to the 56kb/s download you just need to finish the game just collecting all the crystals…

to get the 100 mb/s connection you would need to get all the gems

Replace the front page with a blank page except for an MD5’d version of the download URL, and we will need to pool our CPU resources together to brute-force the hast so we can then download it.

I would put it on steam just like Insurgency Mod. With that option you would get much more BM players so that te multiplayer also would be a bit crowded…

Ya i knw. But still they can try, … for what i’ve seen, BM is like 10 million times better than Insurgency Mod (or other mods) So it won’t be that hard for them to make it happen on steam.

I’d release it as a crappy cam-recorded speedrun with Russian dubbing… What? You’ve seen it, didn’t you ;P.

Jokes aside, I think Steam won’t be a problem. Valve knows about this project and how big it’s going to be. Besides I bet there are dozens of hosting sites willing to do it for the “hype” itself (I’m surprised none of them offered that yet… Or did they ;P).

I know what I’d do. On release day, put a page with all the download links under a subdirectory on the blackmesasource.com page, but then not link there from anywhere else. It’d be a fun easter egg hunt, except no one would even know it exists.

I actually keep trying to convince other devs we should do this.
