How would YOU release Black Mesa?

i would like it like this ^^ buuut i hope it wont take too long before we see that page

image edited by me in paint lol

I believe that the homepage is going to have a drastic redesign for the release and won’t look anything like that.

probably

My bet is that the redesign will look startlingly like this

First, I would finish everything before announcing the release date. Then, hide the full files on the website in some random part of the wiki. One month later, I would say on the forums that it has been out the whole time. Finally, I would sit back and watch the chaos.

I would make a Deathmatch teaser Staring the Gman Squad, Djy1991 and Crackbone.

And in the end of the video it will say: “IS RELEZED! GO DWNLOAD IT NAO!”
:3

…With a vengeance.

Or an announcement on the forums.

Making first an announcement in the Washington Post or The Economist, then put a download link in an obscure Swedish porn site.

First, I would try to make it as a “non-steam version” ( steam sucks ) …then release …

Good luck having no one play the mod then.

I’d release it, on fire

Surely “Black Mesa, Black Mesa-er”, or perhaps, “Black Mesa, Blacker Mesa”…

mind you, if you accept Valve’s half-assed effort with Half-Life Source as a re-tread, then I guess “Black Mesa, With A Vengeance” is viable…

I’m rambling aren’t I?

Alright, I’d release it on 2,500 1.44MB floppy disks, sellotaped to the front of PCGamer… just for that authentic early '90s vibe.

I’d also recreate that classic multi-floppy install excitement of not knowing for certain if the penultimate disk was going to bork the entire install:

You kids don’t even know you’re alive with your DVDs/BluRays/BitTorrents… TCHAH!

I’d be fucked. My computer doesn’t even have a floppy drive.

just like any mod, the word of mouth will spread like the flu

If the mod was in the final stages of the development I would aim for a April 1st release. That would be so sweet, imagine all the reactions.

Dude, that’s genius! And it fits in the time frames the devs have given!

the devs have NOT given a time frame

Black Mesa, will be released, when the dev team… Take more free time. !

Forthwith :expressionless:

I’d get it hosted on Wikileaks.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
