I would put a countdown timer on the homepage to it’s release. That’ll create hype.
Email all the users signed up to the forums with the download link, then 2 days later post it on the home page of the website. Make it accessible through Steam.

In the way everyone expects them to: Put up a big banner on the main page, add multiple download links, email all the big gaming and HL sites.

Despite whatever else I’d do, I’d obscurely post an initial download link in this thread. Probably PM an active, trusted member with the direct link and tell them to post it in here somehow in a way that no one would notice or, at the least, in a way that no one would believe. Then bricks would be shat.
