If it actually went down like that, I think I’d probably stare at it in disbelief for about 10 minutes.
Although I haven’t been on the forums long, I’ve had this place bookmarked for about 2 years. I wasn’t among the hordes of disappointed people when it wasn’t released in 2009, because I forgot about it, and found it in my bookmarks again recently.
Funny story; I was all “oh boy oh boy it HAS to be released by NOW!” Haha.

You do not get it. The point is putting the installers on the servers of a charity, so people have to visit their page to download it.

I’d have to agree. that would probably be the best way to do it… that way, only people like myself who actually scroll over the entire home page every time the connect to the site would see it at first and be able to enjoy slightly less congested downloads.
I would release by editing a previous post, changing a single letter in an existing link to that of a youtube video containing a base 64 encoded rar as a series of QR codes.
