Me? I’m 25 - I’ve been playing Half-Life oriented games since high school. I remember when that orange colored cd first entered my cd rom drive (sounds a bit dirty doesn’t it?), not knowing what to expect. Little did I know, I was about to experience something that would cause me years later to hover around these forums, awaiting (albeit impatiently) for the most ambitious mod I’ve ever seen. I know I’m not the only one, so come on guys/gals - how old & how long have you been a fan?
16
Aware of series since 2003, fan of series since 2006
Oh my… I’m old! Then again if you’re 16, you’re probably home for summer vacation, which I hope you’re enjoying!
I HAVE EXISTED SINCE BEFORE TIME BEGAN.
I think God may have made that same claim at one point. So if this was before time began, can we get some kind of numerical figure, or is that not possible in a state of timelessness?
Hmmm, I heard about it a lllooonnnggg time ago, never actually played it until 3 years ago. I then played HL2, loved it, got the episodes, loved them, got HL1, loved it, found Black Mesa, love the team <3. It is now my favourite game series.
I’m 17.
me, well im 19 right now and all i know is this. I remember playing cs with the name 9yrsold on dialup. when i wasnt allowed on the internet i would play half-life.
Well im 14…when half-life release im have 2 years haha
sorry for my bad english… im a brazilian
What about Half-Life mods? C’mon, you haven’t had the Half-Life experience until you’ve played through all the DOZENS of various user-made addons to the game. See a couple of my recent posts in the “Post your latest” thread in the “Show off” sub-forum to get a little idea. THEN GIT YER BUTT OUT THERE AND DOWNLOAD SOME HALF-LIFE MODS AND GO WILD!!
I’m going to assume you speak Spanish for a minute.
En Inglés, no se dicen “yo tengo 14 años”, dicen “yo soy/estoy 14 años”. Por ejemplo, yo tengo 23 años, pero en Inglés: “I am 23 years old.” ¿Compredne?
Pardónme por mi Español mal.
I’m 15.
HL2 was pretty much my first Steam game, quite a few years back (about 2004-ish?). Then I played HL1. After that, I played the Episodes when they came out.
And I heard about Black Mesa after searching around the Valve Dev Wiki for some good singleplayer mods.
i´m 39.
my first computer was a commodore 64.
then amiga 500
then my first pc (486 dx2 66)
quake 1, quake 2, hl1, op force, blue shift
etc. etc.
WTF? Im a brazilian not a spanish… but ok i understand
OMG A GORDON FREEMAN EMOTICON - :freeman::freeman::freeman::freeman::freeman:
This is the third thread I know of asking how old everyone is. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
ENOUGH IS NEVER ENOUGH!!!
Hey, you said you didn’t speak English very well, and I was under the impression that Spanish is among the more common languages there. :[
Also, the “have 2 years” bit made me also think “Spanish”. Sorry, dude.
This is why I just gotta stick with the troll. Troll with the troll :JCDenton:
I’m 24 and I discovered all about HL when I played and loved the shit out of the HL: Uplink demo back in the year 2000. I didn’t have any money back then so I had to grab myself a pirated copy of the game. 2 years later we got broadband internet at home and I finally was able to afford a legit copy of the game. Since then I have bought every Valve game except for Condition Zero.
Evidently, you have a very low tolerance for ordinary discussion. Must every thread be entirely original or unique? Now if this was a thread demanding a release date, I’d certainly agree, but this is just harmless small talk. That being said, how old are you “Burbinator”?
Ahhh Maxey and Cusack, there are my veterans. I didn’t have a commodore, but my first computer was an Apple II e (with the green screen). I’ll never forget that wonderful grinding noise the floppy discs made when “loading”.
Double-posting now, are we?
We already have a thread like this going, and it’s in the right section.
I’m 19, I discovered half-life in 99’
been a fan ever since
Which section would be the correct place? I based the inclusion of this thread on the following observations:
-The name of this subsection is “The Cafeteria”, implying a wide range of discussions might occur here. In fact it says “General inquiries and discussions about the mod and its development” I’d argue that specific facts about the mod’s audience (in this case age) is directly related to the mod.
-Here are some of the titles of the various threads immediately noticeable when entering “The Cafeteria”
When the FOCK?
Ways to cope while waiting for BM:S
I made this comic to express my frustration.
So, why is my thread in the wrong spot? You can hang out in your thread all ya want. I’ll be right here. If a moderator requests that I not post topics like this, I will happily choose more carefully in the future.
They speak Portuguese in Brazil.
The ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!’ was meant facetiously, but there is a difference between not being entirely original and unique and being exactly the same.
