How does Gordon have a HUD if he doesn't have a helmet?

“It CANNOT be on his glasses because you only get HUD once you acquire the suit.”
Except for the fact that it does.

Right on the first page. PICK UP THAT CAN.

Right right, I forgot about that, sorry. I always considered that as part of the gameplay machanics and added for you to see, not Gordon, while the HUD later is actually from the suit/helmet that Gordon sees too.

But there’s no distinction between the two in the slightest. And there’s no helmet on the suit either of the times you get it.

Seeing as how the suit was redesigned, what exactly does the redesigned helmet look like? No one knows because it wasn’t redesigned, modeled, or conceived in any way, because there is no helmet. Sure, he might have been depicted with one in a piece of concept art, but then again he was also depicted like this:
Why does chell have a HUD in portal? She has no glasses or armor, or anything. It’s all just “part of the gameplay mechanics.” (I made the one glasses joke just because this thing is fuckin’ sweet.)

Chell doesn’t have a hud.

She has a crosshair :hmph:

This is how I’ve always seen it.

The fuck happened to his chin? Apparently all those times you go swimming in toxic waste the HEV wasn’t helping afterall.

Edit: And his hair.

It’s the SPACE BIKER.

No, it’s a wannabe space biker. He quite clearly didn’t originally look like that.

It’s the smear tool biker

Weird because I haven’t any HUD :retard:

I’d also like to point out that Gordon doesn’t have legs and apparently can just float up ladders while something, probably his beard, makes a banging sound against the rungs.

Translation: It’s a game, they do things to make it easier to play. Only questions about the actual content of the game are valid.

Has anyone considered the possibility that there is in fact no HUD, but instead exists a representation of what Gordon is aware of. The player can’t feel the same things as Gordon, so things how hurt he is (health) are shown visually. I always assumed that the HUD didn’t exist in the actual world but was instead a representation of status for the benefit of the player.

Sadly, for some reason, i got a hud too.

he accidentally a helmet when you weren’t looking.

He also has it on when he’s in his civilian suit.

That’s all you need to know  .

That movie looks quite crappy.

It wasn’t that bad  . And it reveals the secret of Gordons HUD ;P.

That had absolutely nothing to do with a hud.

He’s saying that the HEV suit does that too, so Gordon is wearing a helmet, so he can see a hud. But I don’t agree with this.
