From the concept art and the story clues, my guess is that, instead of destroying the Borealis, Alyx will use the Combine Portal code in junction with Aperture’s tech to send Gordon to the Advisor Homeworld for a surprise

Considering the fact that Episode 2 and Valve left us with zero information about the coming plot and has only released/leaked three screen shots that tell us almost nothing, there is nothing to speculate with. Wait for another year or two when they actually let us know anything about it and then start speculating.

I wouldn’t say it tells us nothing. I mean, everything since Episode one seems to be pointing towards the Borealis and Mossman like a bunch of neon-lit arrows.
There is no episode 3. It’s all in your head.
Even if they don’t release Ep3 this year they could at least give us some screenshots

On the 31st December 2010 Valve will be making an announcment saying that the character Lamarr will be returning for Episode 3. Then leave us with nothing until 2016 when they give us a 30 second trailer featuring the message “Coming soon”.
